After googling DRC, I came up with something called BruteFIR but it looks quite complicated. Is there any such thing as an easy to use and intuitive digital room correction software for a multichannel setup that runs on Windows?

Yes, do a search for "convolver". It's a filter that works kind of like ffdshow

It's called SincAudio: http://www.sincaudio.com/. Haven't tried to use it yet, looks pretty straightforward. Anyone out there got experience with it? Looks simpler to use than some of the other approaches mentioned here, and more sophisticated than Vista's approach. Cheaper than the Acourate stuff.

But until I know it works, I don't know if it's worth it. Will update when I do.

I know, BruteFIR works in the most http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wave_field_synthesis - applications. Seems to be one of the best possibility for using impulse responses for create virtual environements.
