I remember I read somewhere that there was a way to make a digital out port for a computer without one, but I can't seem to find it. Does anyone know how to make one? I don't want to buy another sound card just for that.

Thanks

If your motherboard has a spdif out header, you can make a coax connector for it easily. Ignore the 5V pin and just connect the other two to a female RCA jack.

My MSI mobo has a 3 pin connector for a spdif connector. I was able to buy an Asus spdif board with Toslink and a Coax connecters which is a small PCB and a bit of electronics on it. I used an audio cable from a CD Rom drive and pulled the pins out and use that as the cable to connect it.
