So this evidently has something to do with the speaker config setting.

Do you have audio output set to 5.1 or 7.1? Can anyone test and see what happens when you use the 7.1 setting?

I also discovered an additional problem - when set to 7.1 I get significant audio (but not video) stuttering/drop outs - not sure exactly how to describe it, sort of when you bump into an old vinyl player so that it jumps out of track.

I do not have this problem with PowerDVD so that would rule out anything being wrong that has not to do with TMT. This is also on a system that did not have any previous version of the software installed so it can't be remnants of the previous version.

I'm using Vista Ultimate, BTW. Intel quad 6600, 2GB, nVidia 8500GT.

Okay, I read through a page in this thread that I probably missed before, it appears that if the disc is only 5.1 the channel swapping problem will be there if you have the software set to 7.1.

So I guess a work around is to set it to 5.1 unless the disc (and how many do?) has a 7.1 sound track.

Still a bug, though. And I guess it also means two silent rear surround speakers when using TMT with analog output.

Any way to achieve PLIIx/DD-EX in this scenario? I guess not.

I ran this system with the Silicon Option HQV HD (Blu-Ray):

- TMT build 109
- ATI 3650 with 8.2 drivers (8.3 do not work with TMT)
- HQ HD Blu-Ray

Passed:

- Noise Reduction
- Film Mode Resolution

Failed:

- Video Resolution
- All Jaggies Tests
- Color-bars Blacker than Black no shown (although not an official test)

All tests pass with PowerDVD on the same system.

I can definitely confirm you that ISO works (well, at least on my system). I made the images using Imgburn 2.4 in build mode from my rips (both HD-DVD and Blu-ray) that I put on my WHS box. I mount the ISOs using Daemon tools lite 4.1.2.1. As soon as the image is mounted, totalmedia start the movie.

I don't know if that might be why it works for me but I have edited the HD-DVD (xpl file) to remove any extras so I only have the movie (trying to conserve space on the server). As for the blu-ray, I passed them through tsremux in blu-ray mode to also remove the extras so only the movie with is left in the end. I don't know if that would explain the difference that we have.

I have a similar setup and noticed that when I am in 7.1 or 5.1 mode I get sound out of my back surround channels instead of the sides. Something isn't quite right just yet from what I can tell.

Wow, I'm surprised. The PQ of TMT just looks a lot better to me than PDVD.

Currently testing 3D with Sammy DLP, shutter glasses, and HTPC

I just tested my two "problem discs" with the latest TMT 109:

Pacte des Loups: still no go. Navigation is a mess. I can jump directly into the movie but I got no english subs. Nero Showtime is till the only solution to watch this title with english subs.

Star Trek S1: Withpout AnyDVD ST doesn't even start. With AnyDVD enabled TMT crashes when trying to activate Starfleet Access.

So TMT is still not worth a buy for me.

Btw. I noticed that when HWA is activated on my 8800GT the image gets very pixelated. To solve this I have to set the edge enhancement silder in NVIDIA control panel to a value > 0.

Hi All,

Running fresh install XP SP2 with latest forceware on a 8500GT and TMT 109.

I noticed that playback at full screen does not work for me. I did find out it has something to do with the screen resolution.

1368x768 does not work. (my plasma's native res.)
1360x765 and 1024x768 *DOES* work at full screen.

I tried to post this on the ArcSoft forums, but it looks like you have to purchase the product before you can register for their forums. I am running the trial version and refuse to purchase this product until I can use it at the native res. of my plasma.

Anyone else running at 1368x768 with full screen working?

Can someone please pass this along to the ArcSoft team?

Thanks,
Mike

I am using 2.1.6.105 and have the following problems...
1. I cannot play any HDDVDs whether they are ISO or ripped (only Blueray works)
2. I tried the upgrade and then I also lost my audio (I'm using SPIDIF)... I had to do a system restore to a day before to get the old one back and get it back to where it was.

I have a Intel duo 2.4Ghz with 4gig of ram and an Asus
GeForce 8600GT with 512meg.

I really would like to watch my HDDVDs too.

Denon 4520ci, (3) JBL 2360As/EV DHA-1s, (3) 1/4 Pie bass bins, MiniDSP 2x4s, (4) Klipsch HIPs, (2) Klipsch KP3002s, PS3, XBox 360, (3) Intel NUCs, Monoprice Redmere, Monster HTPS7000, 2 SUPER SPUD subs, Panasonic AE8000us SeymourAV 180 (195" diagonal) scope screen, Yamaha P7000s (for the subs), (2) Yamaha P2500s amps for the front (3) bass bins.

What about your speaker config? 5.1 or 7.1, and what's your audio setting in TMT?

Are you running any other audio processing in the system such as AC3filter, ffdshow, etc?

thanks

I doubt this is down to the software. Try 1366x768 or use powerstrip to force the 1368x768 resolution ( also handy to setup multiple refresh rates with the same res.

Running 5.1 over the analogue outputs, only use FFDShow processing when playing back DivX media, can't see the point in running FFDShow playing back HD media such as Bluray and HDDVD, again, cannot see the point in running AC3 Filter....

Mediaportal running all frontend duties with the exception of Bluray and HDDVD.

Aside from a controller issue I'm having with iMon, I have had no problems with TMT, im using a ATI 2600pro, athlon 5000+, and im using my motherboards digial coax out for sound. The integration with VMC is much better than PowerDVD, someone on they're boards actually replies to posts right now, and you can get them directly if you call on the phone. I'll take the 90$ chance on TMT, powerdvd has switched over the "evil" corporate side and must be destroyed my paduan's

Ohh ya btw, to my eyes, TMT looks better on my 52" aquos d62u, which i know isnt the best TV, and has some banding and red push. But the HD content looks amazing, I'm not sure you've seen what HD can be till you see planet earth...wow

I'm running in a dual-monitor setup with a Sony LCD TV running at 1366x768. Windows treats it as 1360x768 though. Its connected via a DVI-to-HDMI cable.

Anyway, I've been able to watch many Blu-ray and HD-DVD content using TMT using this screen

So, is TMT supposed to support full TrueHD decoding and analog passthrough? Whenever I have selected TrueHD as my audio option (on both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray) and view the information during playback, it shows the audio as Dolby Digital Lossless, but is only showing the bitrate as 640. LPCM audio on Blu-Ray discs display the proper bitrate and DD+ tracks display properly as well. Is TrueHD not supported and it is downsampling it?

This programme is useless for Blu-Ray as it cannot play BD+
This programme is useless for HD-DVD as it reverses the analogue centre and right audio channels in 5:1 or 7:1 mode for DD+

The latest update totally fixed all BD+ compatibility issues as well as channel swapping issues for me. Haven't had a BD, BD+ or HDDVD that woulden't play with perfect HD audio over the analogue outputs in 5.1.

It's a pain but the moderator suggests(as seen in threads) registering and informing ArcSoft support of playback problems. You can even if you only have the trial.

Jason fron the Arcsoft forum admits that installing and running the 109 trial after the 105 trial has exprired is a feature they wanted to include but ran out of time. He said a subsequent version will address this.

Is there no non-commercial (i.e. open source) player that can play BDs or HD-DVD?

This is really what I have been waiting on as well. I'm still unclear as to whether or not TMT will provide bit-for-bit decoding of Dolby True HD to analog or more importantly for myself, LPCM over HDMI to my receiver.

I don't currently have the PC hardware for this (Intel board, etc.) so haven't tried it out yet.

Can anyone clarify this?

There will be at some point but I think we just have to realise how early days this is for the HDM formats. It took quite a while to get dvd playback on a PC up to snuff and I think we'll go through similar birthing pains with HDM ( lets face it even the standalone players don't do a hassle free job yet).

I really think they should sort out the pricing of their software ( and the other company involved with making a software player) given how flakey their current product is.

Yes, same here for me. Not for all disc´s but last nights movie "Curse of the Golden Flower". Information displays DTS HD 640kbs and when i play it in PowerDVD i got the 2mbs sound. And yes it´s a diffrent and yes i run analog.
