My replaytv 5000 just died. I suspect the power supply. Times are tough, so am looking to replace it as inexpensively as possible...

Do you own, and know how to use, a multimeter?
If yes, take a look at my FAQ "Before You Ask..." at the top of the page, GOOGLE (or maybe I already have LINKs to) ReplayTVUpgrade and MikeyBoy's sites. There are 'Easy-to-Follow' instructions WITH PICTURES on how to test your Power Supply (voltages and pins), whether or not some electrolytic capacitors have failed, whether or not the cable between the P/S and the motherboard has burnt connectors, whether or not some screws are loose (*BESIDES* those rattling around inside my head! ) and you've lost the ground connection, if the HDD needs to be re-imaged, etc, etc, etc...
Why do you suspect the Power Supply?
What troubleshooting have you done thus far?
What is your 'Skill Level'?
Do you know how to solder?
Yada, Yada, Yada...
