Boy... I complain about how my kids want "instant gratification".... Apparently the networks want Instant HIT or hit the curb... what a waste of their limited resources...

And that's the big problem with these network. One gets an instant hit, next season everyone copies it. They then move said wannabe around the schedule board in a way no body can follow. Then say the public never wanted it and poof!

personally, i could only stand about 10 mins of the pilot before i turned it off...on the other hand, FX's Thief is pretty good--or least what i saw from the pilot...haven't had a chance to watch ep #2 yet.

Hopefully they'll move Law & Order back to 10PM to not interfere with Lost.

The only 2 shows I watched on NBC were Earl and L&O. I don't watch either now because NBC moved them against CSI and Lost... Nice move losing their viewers!

I still haven't watched Thief. Probably won't either. I have the pilot recorded.

On NBC I watch Earl.

Last night my wife and I were scrolling through the guide and realized we don't have that many shows we watch together and only a handful either one of us cares to watch. I sure hope you guys get tired of realityTV soon so we can go back to television.

The first 3 episodes of The Unit were penned by David Mamet and were great. The ones since have deteriorated into soap opera and were disappointing. There's an old saying in the movie industry, "One can make a bad movie from a good script, but one can never make a good movie out of a bad script." The writing shows.

I agree, The Unit started off with a real bang but I think I slept through the last 2 episodes.

NBC has hardly nothing I record (let alone watch). Apprentice and Heist were the only ones left from a quick look at my recording schedule for next 12 days... I guess it's just Apprentice pretty soon. Seems like ABC & FOX get most of my recording/viewing time these days with CBS not too far behind. Just as well - NBC HD broadcasts seem to be the lowest quality of the network channels anyway.

Call me crazy, but I actually liked Heist. The crazy thing is I hate NBC and barely watch any of their shows (I think it's down to "My Name is Earl" and "Las Vegas"). I also had a hunch that Heist wouldn't last that long. Guess I lost my senses actually watching a show I knew was going to get canned quickly on a network I don't like.

Isn't the whole point of a DVR so that you can watch TV on your schedule? Sounds like someone needs to get themselves another Replay pronto! :)

1) DirecTV doesn't make an MPEG-4 capable HD-DVR yet.
2) This isn't a DVR forum. I hope you like feeling all high and mighty. Do I ask you what kind of car you drive? Do I ask you how many square feet your house is? Get a life.

1) A ReplayTV (mentioned in the post you quoted) has nothing to with DirecTV. This isn't a DirecTV forum.

2) This forum is:

Last time I checked, ReplayTVs and Showstoppers are DVRs.

Yeah, right. Those reality shows are as "reality" as Jerry Springer. Don't worry about the writers and actors. They're all working on reality TV now.

Considering NBC didn't schedule them until mid-season, it seems like they're trying to kill this show too. I loved NewsRadio, but f* if I could keep track of when it was on! This was before my 3 Replays, of course.

Third Rock was one credited for lasting as long as they did with NBC always moving them. NBC seemed to use Third Rock to get people watching other struggling shows, and nearly killed them in the process.

My wife and I watch scrubs. It can be so halarious at times.

As for the office at first I was like I can't believe I'm watching this but then as I keep watching it is so stupid at times it cracks me up.

This is a good example of not being able to find any good comedy on tv right now.

Oh I also forgot to mention Boston Legal can be pretty funny at times. William Shatner are a lunatic can be funny.

I recorded the first 2 episodes of Heist and just got around to watching them and I actually really enjoyed them, even though it's predicatable, I like the bantor between the black and white cops that were made to be partners.

But, since the moved it forward an hour in the schedule, thus clashing with both Lost and American Idol, I've not been able to watch it.

I love the way networks move shows into slots next to 2 of the most popular shows on TV and then cancel them because the ratings just weren't there!

Later, Rob

amen to that! AD was one of my all-time favs in its short run...i hated Scrubs when it first debuted, but it's in my top 5 all-time comedies since i gave it a second chance in season 2...i own the DVDs and after re-trying season 1, i don't know what i was thinking back then...it's hysterical!

...and The Office just keeps getting better and better.

Office & Scrubs are best sitcoms on network TV right now IMHO. Earl started strong, but has faded incredibly fast. This is probably the last season for Scrubs, so enjoy it while it lasts. How I Met Your Mother is actually really good, especially if you catch all the episodes, they really do build on what came before.

And that's why I like Earl. You don't have to watch the episodes in order, and it doesn't hurt the storyline to miss an episode.

i totally agree as well...NPH is killah...the problem with How I Met Your Mother is that if the episode is a stinker, it's a real bad one...that being said, the good episodes heavily outweigh the bad though.

When Earl's weak it's weak but when he's on he's WAY on.

Same thing w/ Two and a Half Men. First season was AWESOME. Second season decided vulgarity was funny enough without being creative. But when they hit it they swing for the fences. The episode where Charlie goes to the shrink is awesome. Last weeks was a lot of fun as well.

I thought Heist was a bit cheesy, but I enjoyed it. My wife got into it, so I enjoyed it with her. My mom spent all Monday night catching up on the 1st 3 episodes only to have us tell her the next day it was being cancelled.

The Unit had some cheese too the first episode. I liked it when they 1st mentioned the "orders" with the winks, but the next 10 times or whatever made it get a little old. You gotta love Palmer in anything, even those State Farm commercials. I hadn't realized he was also Pedro in Major League.

I assume you're still watching 'Prison Break' before any of these tho'.
