I'm wondering if someone else experienced the same issue.

My 5040 used to say "one time fee paid" since '04 but suddenly 2 days ago started to give me the reg required screen! I went to replay site and entered my serial and it's saying "already activated"

Before i call their tech support, i wanted to see if there is a way to reconnnet w/o calling them, anyone still has the green sticker that came with the box? I thought "one time fee paid" meant lifetime ?

"One time fee paid" DOES mean Lifetime.

Did your RTV somehow kick over into an "unexplained reboot into quicksetup"?

http://www.replaytvupgrade.com/unexp...uick_setup.htm

This might cause the screen to come up.

Supposedly DNNA did have some problems with the activation server a few weeks ago, you could be suffering from some late breaking effects.

You should be able to allow the RTV to connect and it should straighten itself out. If not, you will probably have to call.

Still no news from New Zealand.
If we ever get any, we'll be sure to let you know.

Hey rm rf,
From when you were in these parts, do you remember a meat market** (club) called "The Metro" in the extra shady city of Rubidux?

**I've observed every year it became more and more of a meat market since I first learned about it in highschool (83ish)

The name sounds familiar, can't say I've ever been there though.

It's not far from the club you told me about a year+ ago so I thought you knew the area.

n/m

Welp I guess I'll finish the thought.
'Club Metro' is such a meat market that I've run in to people in OC that have talked about it. It was a huge square footage shady club in a particularly lifeless area. The way I remember it there were always girls dancing in cages, and they took for granded that they could call for a wet teeshirt contest and ~25 cover-charge paying girls would step up to compete, and they were always right, always far more right that I'd expect, the girls always did. It was a place of shoking great times, plus a lot of stuff you chose not to think about or were in denial about-the place has been closed down and reopened probably a dozen times. It was particularly good in the late 80s/early 90s). (If anyone is wondering at this point, I've been there about 8-10 times in the 20 year timeframe I've known about the place. For two decades, any time the place was mentioned someone would always said it was even more of a meat market than last year, of course it was hard to believe that could be true considering how much of a meat market it has always been and how many years it's been around.

I haven't thought about the place for about a decade*. I just got word that the premise is now a Huge MEAT MARKET, literally. You know, the type that cuts up cattle and puts it in display cases. I haven't been there but that must be a pretty darn big meat market. It Finally happened I guess, a complete transformation. I instinctively knew not to hang around that place too long. I'm lucky I didn't get too caught up in the place.

*too old damnit

That would explain why the name was familiar to me.

I'm not really the club going type. Personally, I hate club crowds. I was just getting paid to install computer controlled lighting systems at these places (along with audio systems at the live concert venues). If it wasn't for that, I would never be in these places. Live concert venues, ala House of Blues, now, that's a different story alltogether.

215 was an oddity, because at the time (10+ years ago now I guess), the owner was such a frickin' nice guy it was unbelievable. He was just the total opposite of all the other owners out there.

Still no news from New Zealand.

I'll read the link that someone posted and also try reconnecting... I'll post back about my results.

P.S. - I've had my unit for several years and I also had (have) a lifetime subscription.

It's starting to sound like the DNNA subscriptions server went ape$hit again. Unfortunately, that seems to happen about once every year to year and a half.

You might have to call.

pjbrownva,

If you hear anything from DNNA that sounds like they might have had a server issue, please post back here and let us know. A lot of us that post here have had multiple RTV's for years so we tend to be curious about things like that.

TIA.
