My father has a Sony DVD player, Receiver and LCD-TV all connected by HDMI cables. The problem is, when I want to use the DVD player to listen to CDs or MP3 discs the TV comes on. If you turn off the TV (on the unit or by remote) the other two components turn off as well.

Anyway to stop that ?

Go into the menu and turn off the Bravia sync feature.

Then you have to deal with it... Or get a harmony or other learning/macro remote.

Picture without sound is surveillance.
