My AV equipment has and will remain in its current location for the long term. In fact it has been in the same place for many years. With my power center close to the entertainment center I've neatly bundled the numerous power cables. That's been okay but I really would like to shorten those power cables to a more reasonable length. My plan is to shorten the power cables from the plug end. This then necessitates installation of new plugs. Question - Do you foresee any problem(s) with my plan?

Factory plugs fit perfect over one outlet, the DIY ones I've seen seem a little big and may occupy more than one outlet position... Other than that, is just your time.
Just remember that on un-color coded zip cord the side with the ridges (or other marking) is the 'neutral' NOT the 'hot'. Make sure the neutral gets connected to the wider blade on the plug.
