DIY Projector Table

Ok guys. I don't know if this is the right section of the forum but this is the only DIY section I can find. If i should post this somewhere else I apologize and can someone please let me know where i SHOULD take this. I am looking to do a DIY end table that will contain my projector within it in a hidden compartment that will pop up. Think of it like a drawer except the drawer will rise up and out of the table top. I have it all planned out in my head but I cannot find a motorized lift that will cost me less than 2000 dollars. That is DEFINATLEY too much to spend. If i can get some ideas on something else i can do to get it to lift or a different device I would be appreciative. Though not a must, an electronic lift would be preferable.
Thanks i advance.

Look at linear actuators...a lot of Tuners use these.

You could fabricate some brackets to move the table up to correct position, and use the linear actuator to do the work.

Thanks! I'll look into it. I have basic electrical work knowledge from work but it looks simple enough!
