Monster Power HTS5100 MKII-Help setting up switched/unswitched equipment

I have a Monster Power HTS5100 MKII power center for connecting all of my equipment to and for some reason I cannot get anything connected to a SWITCHED outlet to turn on.

I have my remote turn on wire running from my AV receiver to the DC in on the back of the Monster unit. The AV receiver is plugged into a UNSWITCHED outlet as the manual says to.

I have or want my mono block amps to be on a SWITCHED outlet and a light/lamp that is plugged into the power center to turn on when everything else turns on and them turn off when everything turns off.

Ideas?

It could be a user error I'm overlooking but not sure anymore. LOL

Oh, and before you guys beat me up over having a Monster Power center. I didn't buy it to make my audio equipment sound better. I like the way everything plug into one unit and makes for wire organization a dream.

Are you sure your AV receiver is providing a 12/24V trigger? You can check that with a voltmeter. The triggers almost always need some menu setup (although they usually default to simple on/off).

What model AVR do you have, that can make things easier to debug...

Have you set the remote on/off button on the front? You plug your trigger cable into the "DC input" not "DC output"?

You can also test the trigger functions using AC - plug a cord from the "AC input" trigger to a wall socket (should make everything turn on).

I think I know what my issue is that my Pioneer Elite SC05 needs to have the 12v trigger turned on for the 1-2 port.

I think once I do this everything will work just fine.

Thanks Jeff,

What was going on was I had my 12v trigger wire going to the out instead of the input.

Its always something small. LOL!

Thank you!
