Okay, when it comes to this Home Theatre stuff I'm a total moron. Thanks to help from members of the AVS Forum, I think I've purchased some pretty good equipment. Now, I'm trying to figure out what cables I should use to connect everything that will give me with the best audio and video quality. Here's my list of equipment:

Television: Samsung LNT-4661F LCD TV
Receiver: Onkyo TX-SR605
DVD Player: Sony Playstation 3
Gaming System: Nintendo Wii
VHS: Old Panasonic VHS Player/Recorder

Speakers (should I use straight speaker wire or banana plug cables?)
Front: Polk Monitor 30's
Center: Polk CS1
Rear: Polk LC85i's
Sub: Velodyne VRP-1200

Thanks,
Kelly

You probably have already hooked up but here is what I would suggest

Television: Samsung LNT-4661F LCD TV
Receiver: Onkyo TX-SR605
DVD Player: Sony Playstation 3 - HDMI to TV - also optical to receiver. That way you can either turn the receiver for audio or just use the TV audio through the HDMI cable - you have to change the audio setting in the PS3 menu to do this

Gaming System: Nintendo Wii - Go Wii component cable setup - gives you 480p

VHS: Old Panasonic VHS Player/Recorder - S-Video if you got it and RCA audio

Speakers (should I use straight speaker wire or banana plug cables?) If this is fairly permanent - just wire ends would be cheaper, but more of a pain to hook up.
Front: Polk Monitor 30's
Center: Polk CS1
Rear: Polk LC85i's
Sub: Velodyne VRP-1200

No, I haven't hooked it up yet. I'm doing that tonight. Everything sounds pretty straight forward except the PS3. Why do I need two connections? Shouldn't ervything be routed in same way or form through the receiver?

Thanks,
Kelly
