From U-turn Audio in Boston MA comes a new, minimalist turntable, available through Kickstarter. Built on an MDF platform, the designers aimed for audiophile specs at entry-level prices. Features include a unipivot tonearm, AC synchronous motor and an Ortofon MM cartridge. The Kickstarter project is well past it's target funding and deliveries are estimated to begin May 2013.

Strip away all of that garbage you don’t need, add high quality components and what we’re left with is a great, minimalistic turntable that only does one thing–plays records.

WOW, 150$ for a entry level Audiophile turntable is pretty cool. I wonder how it's stacks up next to a Pro-Ject debut. I've been holding off for the longest time, this could be sweet. eek.gif

I got in on the initial kickstarter project. Went with the cobalt blue, expect to pick it up in May, going to replace my technics direct drive knock off from the late '80s...

Sure thing - hoping they don't mind me bringing some nice tasty beverages when I pick it up at their shop...

I need to keep an eye on this. I've been meaning to pick up a decent (not great) turntable again for a while now.
