The long awaited feature film Top Gun will be released on 3D Blu-ray on February 19th, with available pre-order now. It will run at IMAX 3D for six prior to the release. For all those non 3D fans, a remastered 2D version will also be included as well as many great extras.

According to the press release, the process of remapping and adjusting the depth of elements in the movie brings additional clarity to its aerial dogfights in both the long shots and cockpit closeups.

We'll have to be patient and look forward to our own Ralph Potts review in the month of February.

In the meantime, you can check out the latest trailer for it's new re-release.

Will you be adding this to your collection?

How about Scientology: The Movie in 3D!!!! Oh wait, wasn't that Battlefield Earth? But... now in 3D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These conversions have got to stop!

I don't think I like Top Gun enough to rebuy the remastered 2D version on Blu-ray. Maybe on UHD... but not if there's another format war or my only choice is PPV downloads.

Listen up, studios! Just say "NO" to DNR and EE!!

I feel the need.. the need for 3d! A Tony Scott movie in 3D! I'm sure that will not give people headaches.
