Auto 3d is the wrong way to go from a techical/scalability standpoint at this point.
From a pure tech standpoint we should be using PC chip (intel or Arm or whatever based systems) that can be upgraded by software (not firmware) to any number of object oriented formats or legacy formats.
At this point it is simply irritating that we are not in this era that I am describing (at an affordable price) given the technical feasability.
I don't mind if auro or atmos or whatever does not catch hold but for it is extremely annoying not to be able to buy a device with "everything" in it. The consumer is left to take a lot of the "risk" still as an early adopter. The manufacturers have not been able to mitigate that risk substantially and therefore have tons of holdouts to the new technology... Slowing down adoption.
