The new SVS PB16-Ultra should put additional perspective on this Monoprice sub:

http://www.audioholics.com/subwoofer...r/measurements

Granted this is hardly apples to apples, but from what I'm looking at the PB16-Ultra has a bigger amp, bigger driver, and bigger cabinet and could muster 113.8db at 20hz. A very respectable number!

Are there still expectations that the smaller 15" Monoprice will almost double the SVSs output under the same testing conditions (2M RMS outdoors)?

We all knew it had no chance of making those numbers. The sub is vaporware anyway, not gonna happen.

If Thilo and Monoprice are right, they'll be the stars of that article.

Either way, new article when there's a clear answer. It doesn't end here.
Isn't it about time to revisit this and write the next chapter @imagic ?

Wow! So Thilo's measurements were just outright lies? I guess this officially makes you part of the media Mark. 🙄

When at trade shows, you do as trade show reporters do. And that sometimes means reporting on vaporware or conveying overly optimistic specs that are vouched for by manufacturers.

I get it. It just seemed so authentic with the private emails and 2m "conservative" measurements.

Thanks Mark. I appreciate your honest reporting! 👍
