Thanks for posting your link oldsteve. I've only seen one other review and I'll put the link for it at the end of my posting. Pretty sure I'll get these to make my system 7.1 (from 5.1) but I just want to read a few reviews first. I know, 45 day return policy, but I don't want to hassle with that if the didn't work out for me. I'm 99.9 % sure I'd keep them as I have an SVS PB12Plus sub and love it.

7 mirror imaged 2 way DIY monitors. All matched to within 1db. All parts matched, 1 SVS SB16 ultra subwoofer
Emotiva XMC-1 processor Marantz UD5007 Bluray player
Furman sequencer ran off of a double 50amp breaker,Furman power conditioner
All in a dedicated 15x22x8 foot dedicated home theater.

This is so weird. I can't get it on that page neither. It says error 404 page not found.

Any consensus on using these as rear speakers in 5.1? Any better or more powerful than prime satellites?

The specs on the two are extremely similar. Driver sizes are the same. The Elevation has a lower frequency response (69 versus 55 Hz).

I would definitely opt for the Elevation due to the flexibility in placement, orientation, or use. That is, if the price isn't a problem.
