2 of the paragraphs are repeated if you are not aware.

I think you left the evil twin paragraph. The other one had a link to the Bloomberg article

Correction. Roku's first product was the Photobridge that came out in August of 2004. It was a box that streamed audio, mpeg2 video and image files to a connected HDTV. It was on the market for 2 years before being abandoned by the company and leaving it's customers in the lurch. They did, however, keep the community forums archive alive and are still accessible...

They should actually grant stock shares to all of those abandoned users that purchased the Photobridge product

They first abandoned the Photobridge (I had three of them and they all failed), and then they abandoned the Soundbridge product (I had six of them - two failed). I have a bunch of their Roku boxes of which just one has failed, but these boxes are fairly cheap, so I don't worry about their hardiness. The products, when they were working, were brilliant. But as a public company, I wouldn't put my money on them.

I prefer Roku to others simply because it's more platform agnostic.

But what does an IPO bring? MORE spying and surveillance of what you watch and other devices on your home network.

It brings dollars to the company and the original investors along with future ways to raise funds without borrowing by selling more shares. That's all an IPO is.
