In this section of the forum, if you are introducing a system without photos, it's a tough room!
Photos should always accompany an equipment listing.

Victor, Victor, Victor!

Wow! Your system is insane! In a good way!
Very impressive collection of components you have there.
There's a lot going on.
Can you elaborate a little more on the configuration?
From the looks of it, you have a lot of power for such a small room. Not a bad thing, mind you, but do you think you are getting the full potential of the system?

As you can see, I took the liberty of embedding your photos for all the world to see! I hope you don't mind....., I have a habit of doing that?!

Great setup!

Regards.

Thankyou for enlarging photo,s taken by a friend for me i don,t have dig camera.
system is very complicated,2 channel transport to jadis dac, then bat pre,to power amps audio research ref 600mkIII (600watt tube amp) don,t look big but they are ,robert harley had mk2 said best ever amp he had but too much heat 800 watts/amp at idle, max 2300watts/amp mono,s with 2 other is nice and warm.to prodigy,s run full range, for now
5.1 pioneer analog out centre,L BACK,R BACK into copland cva 306 6 channel valve pre amp.left and right fronts into bat vk-5 2 chan pre amp to ref 600mkIII to prodigy,s.Centre to krell tas using only 1 channel to logos.L back and R back go to bat vk 500 2 chan, power amp,not shown in pics then to rear martin logan request run full range with 2 genesis subs each, rear subs not in pics,1 revel front not in pics either.forgot sub output from blue ray to avp analog bypass x over 100hz connected to 2 front revel b15 sub, eq flat 15hz to 100hz .because i have 3 volume controls i have it set -8 db from ref 75 db i cant just turn up or down need to calibrate all 3 pre amps.
most movies use 1watt peak for 102 to 105 db at seating position,on mono blocs peaks.
sound,
most home theatres lack power, amps clip due to huge range in most movies, not mine its coasting all the time.mid range is very transparent and highs too, bass very tight.blue ray movie sound tracks are betterthan people realize.2001 space ,audio is best i have heard with real music its like heaven.
room is 15 x 21 x 8 ft height,regards victor

Hello Victor.

Thanks for the breakdown. If you get a chance, check out "ddgtr" setup. He has a similar configuration.

Victor, very nice setup! We're thinking along the same lines. I rock with the Martin Logan Prodigy, as well as a full Martin Logan 7.1 setup.

Very similar, I had a couple of Krell amps and the 70XBR2 too.

This is one OUTSTANDING system!

Enjoy it to the max, you earned it. Nothing beats top of the line equipment.

You are absolutely correct about many home theater systems starving for power and lacking the ability to play clean at both ends of the dynamic range.

This is why I don't care for 90% of the receivers used in home systems. There is no free lunch, you want to play you have to pay and adequate clean power is at the top of my list

Keep climbing the equipment ladder, the exercise will help you live longer because you'll never reach the top

Thankyou,
They are very good for HT,new models are much more amp friendly but not for very large rooms,and/or very high db 115db(at listening position) but on quality movies with music etc are sublime(tube amps 85% of the great sound)
Cheers Victor.

Hey Victor,
Could we have somemore pics since you now have the Duos? It'll be interesting to hear your comparisons between Avantgarde and ML in a HT setting.....not to mention their response to tubes.

Hi Javry,
I will get to post pic,s soon sorry reply took a while been away. When new amps to use with Duo,s arrive(system 2) I will post comparisons at the moment Duo,s with cheap denon Avr sound good.Main System is around 10 times AUS $ OF system 2,so not really fair. They have the same traits, low level detail, speed and dynamics(these and more make things sound real, main system adds timbre, tone, delicate and holographic, those ref600mkIII really are that good words fail(believe the hype they are that good.)
Tubes and ML adds weight,ie they have speed but can sound light with ss amps when they should not. With Larger tube amps they add power and speed(wilson Alexandria X2 watch out) listened at less than 110db above this level Duo,s will have the edge as they can do 125db plus too loud for me.I always use db meter as both systems get loud and don,t sound that loud(very low distortion.)ML for HT excell.they do require better amps etc as very revealing of sub standard components and drive 1 ohm loads.
Cheers Victor.

Projector (jvc hd-100/rs2 ) and screen 110inch 16:9 was installed 1 week ago and after many movies I am more than impressed with the result.

Going from a 70inch tv to the larger screen adds so much detail even movie studio logos are new with details not noticed on a small screen. Now movies have greater emotional impact , I had avoided getting a projector , for a long time thinking not missing too much.

Now I see that it makes a big difference to a movies impact , like the audio side does .

Main seat is 3.6m from screen and projector is ceiling mounted approx 4m from screen.Projector has really impressed me great black levels and is very sharp.Bluray is as expected very good, dvd,s are ok and some much better than expected (I only buy bluray,s in the last 3yrs ).

Nearly finished.
Cheers Victor.

No scope? Kinda surprised but still awesome projector and I bet it looks and sounds spectacular. Consider me quite jealous of all that audio bliss.
