My HTPC setup in a studio apartment. Please let me know what you think, specially in reference to speaker placement. I love how the majority of people here are so modest when they talk about their budget systems, or their "little" systems that they just through together real quick. You guys are awesome.
Samsung LN46B630
Fronts: Energy RC-10s
Center: Energy RC-Mini
Rear: Energy C-100s
Sub: BIC F12
AVR: Denon 1909
Controller: Gyration
HTPC case: Silverstone LC17B
Futon: Strata addison w/ Otis moonshadow =)

My next upgrade is to replace the external hard drives with like a RAID server or something. Anyone have any suggestions on a high capacity plug and play type of thing? Not a NAC box or anything else that requires and actual OS.

This computer doesn't work and isn't even plugged in. I will fix it one of these days. =(

You setup looks sweet, I like the look of your fronts. I actually purchased a second hand Silver Stone on Ebay and found it was way too long to fit in my EC. I ended up getting a much smaller case.

Looks great..

This is a fairly simple raid/NAS device.

It only does raid 1, but for what your doing it should be fine.

Nice looking setup....those RC-10s are great speakers. How do they blend with the RC-Mini as a center? Any plans to jump up to the RC-LCR in the future?

Nice setup, stay Energy!

Is that Cherry or Rosenut? The distributor online photo's are so inaccurate it's hard to tell.

I'm going to guess those RC-10s are cherry, my rosenut ones look fairly darker.... but then the sun hasn't been out in the last month since I had them! The center RC-Mini looks like rosenut though.

Thx. I do not plan on getting the RC-LCR any time soon. I would love to but it is too expensive. The RC-Mini seems to be doing a great job. Sometimes I don't notice that a substantial amount of sound is coming out of only the center. Audyssey does a great job.

The fronts are all cherry. In person everything actually matches. The entertainment center, fronts, futon, little ghetto tables.... The picture makes the RC-10s look very red, they are not that red. And looks like I don't have a great picture of the RC-mini to show off it's finish, but the fronts all match.
I'm not the best photographer and my camera doesn't take super pics. I got the Olympus Stylus Tough 8000. 12mp but it is mostly made so I can play hacky-sack with it, under water. If you want me to take better pics of the fronts with better lighting I can do that.

Before you purchase that RC-LCR make sure you make a cardboard mock-up and see if it will work for you. It's one big momma! It even makes my RC-30's look small!! Nice setup.

Update:
replaced external hard drives with a Raid server box. Got a wireless printer on my Galant desk. The printer is on a nice little stand and the laptop is under the stand when not in use.

Question: I got myself a set of the Diode light stips from IKEA. Thought they were so cool. They are 4 stips about 8'' that can light up from like 5 colors and slow fade to the different colors. I need to find a place to put it. Behind the TV, over the desk, or behind the couch?

Ah, sad to see the Z-5500's going unused. Nice choice of desk. I have the Galant as well, but in a dark brown with "T" legs.

it's SSG. The ones there would be 75th Artillery Brigade. The unit I am currently in and the unit I deployed with.
