Anyway, again really nice set-up and some killer woodworking skills.

Thanks for looking. my wife and I have been working on our new home plans and for now there will be an unfinished basement. That's where the Man cave will go one day. I have tried to integrate my equipment in my furnishings so they are not overwhelming and get the WAF. smile.gif

My suggestion is to buy stuff that is a visual fit for the system and room. I just got some Kimber 12TC speaker cable. And I'm sure that once it breaks in fully it'll be awesome (it's not bad now), but its clear/white dielectric sticks out like a sore thumb. A friend who was here was blunt: she didn't like it. One reason I bought the Kimber over the Transparent MusicWave Plus speaker cables is price; the Transparent is more than twice the money. But I'm wondering now . . .

The aggressive filter of the VT will come in handy if your room has ambient light in it; the VT's filter helps keep its black levels in good shape.

The new Panasonic VT60 has arrived! It is beautiful. Here are pictures of my home Theater set up from the start.

2006 with my first 42' Plasma. Vizio Plasma

2011 with my first Panasonic 46" Plasma

2013 with my second Panasonic Plasma 50UT50

2014 with the new cabinet and my third and final Panasonic Plasma 65VT60

What a great picture the VT60 has! The Panny Plasmas will be missed. frown.gif

Wow that's a great looking tv and stand. Would you stain your speaker stands to match (or can you)? You have a bigger tv than me now, must upgrade...

I think he means because Panny probably won't be making anymore so this is it.

I'm looking at staining the stands, but oak takes the dark stain differently. The grain really shows and if it doesn't match the cabinet then I may have to make new ones. Buying the VT60 was a freak thing and my wife gave me the green light to do it. When that happens you don't ask twice! LOL

And yes because Panny will not be making the plasma anymore. frown.gif

JT, I was looking at your most recent picture.............yes, your new cabinet is beautiful. And even though the color match might not be spot on with the oak stands, you should be able to come close............but the most horrible thing I noticed is; your new TV is covering two of the pictures on the wall.

I'm afraid it's just to damned big, you need to down size, or, just send it to me, I'll try to find something to do with, no, don't worry about shipping, I'm sure you're already stressed enough from the travesty I've pointed out, I'll be happy to alleviate the burden of shipping for you biggrin.gif

You are right!! I must remove the Panny immediately! The HT police are cycling and I'm afraid they may raid my home any minute and there may be collateral damage to my AVR or speakers. My wife has fortified the front door and my son has my six.

After second thoughts will just move the pictures! LOL.. You’re the only one that noticed that and I use it as a point of reference to show the size changes. If I were to get rid of it you are number one on the list! biggrin.gif

I just picked up a pair of Klipsch RB-81ii for $300.00 on Craigslist. They are in new condition and big improvement over the RB61ii I already had. Man do these sound great.

Here are a couple of pictures.

So what will happen to the speakers displaced by the Klipsch pair? The ones in the cabinets to either side of the Klipsches?

I would love to use them for my surrounds, but they are too big for my space at this time. So they will be used in the house that we are building now for retirement until the time I actually do retire which is about four years out. wink.gif

I think Panasonic exits the plasma business officially this month. They stopped manufacturing in December.
