Call me crazy, but I just replaced my Sony XBR65X850C with a Samsung UN65JS8500FXZA and I must say there is a difference in the picture. I had them set up side by side to see if there was any major differences. Though both have very good pictures, the Sony at times seemed to crush some of the solid color where the Sammy handled them much better. I think I am done for a while with any changes. The Samsung was an open box from Best Buy and had all accessories and was in the original box. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

My set up
Marantz SR-7008, Emotiva XPA-3, Panasonic DMB-BDT360
Klipsch RB-81II, RC-52II, Boston Acoustics Micro 120s
Klipsch SW-310, RPW-10, Samsung UN65JS8500FXZA

Well now I know why the Samsung was an open box. For the first two days everything was great, then on day three there was dark shadows in both upper corners. So back to Best Buy to return it and pick up a brand new one and all is good. What it turned out was that the open box had been returned twice for the same problem. I made sure that they placed a defective sticker on the unit. eeping my fingers crossed that this it for many years.

You are so right! it took me three of the Samsung JS8500s to a panel without any issues. This TV has very good picture and now I'm enjoying UHD content from my the Samsung hard drive which came with 10 UHD movies and 30 documentaries.

Ok, well luck didn't work either. My second Samsung JS8500 had glowing blue spots at the bottom corners and I took it back after two weeks. Seems like the third time was the charm and the new Sammy is issue free. So in the last month I have had four different TVs come through my doors in an attempt to replace my DOA Panasonic VT60. This last one seems to be very good and I'm pleased with the picture. For my other house I ordered a Panasonic 65CX650 4k and though it doesn't have then Nano-crystal technology and DNR, it does have a very good picture for a mid level 4k set. 2015 has cost me a lot of dough in replacement electronics. It was fun though.

Awesome!!! I just ordered more materials to complete my set up for IC's. I'll post those upon completion.

I didn't realize that I hadn't really updated my page with my latest changes. I updated my tv after a painful fall 2015 with multiple tvs coming and going, I finally got a good panel. My new Samsung 65js8500 has a very good picture though it takes some getting used to when coming from a plasma. I really like the picture of this set head on, off center the picture starts to degrade.

I also mounted the tv on the wall above the entertainment center. Here is an updated photo.

Thanks for sharing brother! That looks like a nice display for sure.

One day I'll be able to recoup the loss of my Sammy 64" plasma. But that's for another day
