I finally have a theater worth sharing. It began as nothing special, but over time and with some DIY, I am proud of it.

Components:
-Yamaha RX-V765 Receiver
-Sharp DT510 Projector & manual 100" screen (HDMI)
-Olevia 232V LCD TV (HDMI)
-Samsung BD-P1600 Blu-Ray (HDMI)
-Xbox 360 (HDMI)
-HTPC (Dell GX270, VGA to TV only for now. Next upgrade point.)
-Wii (Component)
-Velodyne CHT Front Row 5 ch Speakers (Used for center and surrounds)
-DIY Sealed Tritrix Main Speakers
-Ported 15 inch Dayton Reference HO Sub (130L, 17Hz, 500W)
-Logitech Harmony 880

Sorry for the low quality pic. Cell phone cameras...

The projector screen comes down right in front of the TV. Still some tweaking of the audio to go, but I love how well it looks and sounds for games and movies.

I am in the middle of building a flexi-style tv stand to hold everything better.

Thanks for looking.

It might sound better if you get the left/right tweeters closer to ear level.

"But this one goes up to 11"

Thanks for the tip, I know it would help. I will build some stands soon to lift them up another 10 inches or so and aim them more toward the listener. That's as high as I can go before I start to get into the way of the projector screen. And until I get a better room (in planning...), that's as good as it will get!

Hi. Why don't you save some money/time on making speaker stands and put the speakers on the TV stand? From the looks of it, you're right channel is in front of your sub.

My $0.02.

Yeah, the current setup isn't ideal. I will be re-arranging the layout when I can. If I put the speakers on the tv stand, they will be blocked when I put the projector screen down, as it comes down right in front of the tv. My screen is unfortunately not acoustically transparent. I will be building some simple stands here soon, and moving the sub to a hopefully better performing location which will also allow the mains to not be placed directly in front of the sub.

New arrangement and better pic:

New: Sub placement, speaker stands, no center channel for now (working on new build), current HTPC, shows more kids clutter

ANOTHER UPDATE:

Speakers are Dayton Classic WMTMW towers. See build thread HERE.

Amplified by a Behringer A500 fanless amp (not the amp in pic) from the pre-outs on my receiver. Still no center yet. And even more kids clutter.

Wow great job on the speakers. It's cool to see the progression of your system too.

I think this is the first setup I've seen with Pottery Barn Home Theater Chairs. Good stuff!

Kid clutter, man oh man is that the worst. I love when their sticky, dirty fingers poke the sub and then they run away laughing.

That's some nice DIY work there.

Good job. It's always nice when your sub is bigger than the equipment rack.
