This is my first house. New house and setup is in my theater thread in my signature.

***************************
*****UPDATED PICS POST 19*****
***************************
Updated pics of subs post #20 ****
**************************

TV-
Sanyo 70"

Components-
Yamaha rx-v667 AVR
Sony bdp-cx960 400 Bluray Disk Mega Changer
Panamax m5300 Power Conditioner
Emotiva xpa-3 Amp
Lumagen RadianceXD
Darbee vision Darblet
Directv hr22-100
Xbox 360 slim
Yamaha wireless iPod dock

Speakers-
Emptek E55Ti towers
Emptek E5Ci center
klipsch s1 surrounds X4
Outlaw LFM-1 Plus Subwoofer X2

Remote-
Harmony 900
Niles IR Repeater

I wanted all wires and components hidden. The components are in a rack in the other room combined with components for the rest of the house. I did all the work including building the rack. Some of the rack parts are Middle Atlantic though. Working on the home theater now but the components and speakers that I want are very pricey so it is going to take a little bit before that is ready. Also the construction work will take a little while too because I will be doing it myself. I have read enough info on this great site to build a theater well and cant wait until it is done.

Very nice looking setup indeed, congrats!

How can you control the gear being in another room?

Regards!

Thanks everybody for the nice comments! I control everything with an IR repeater over a cat5 cable. Niles is the one that I am using, but there are many on the market.

Literally looks like you went to the local cineplex and stole their equipment rack haha. Looks great! If I'm reading correctly thats a DIY Rack? Looks professional!

No subwoofer I've heard has been able to produce the bass I've experienced in the Corps!

Must..stop...buying...every bluray release...

Wow! Thanks for all the great comment. Very nice to wake up to them. The rack is a middle atlantic frame and faceplates. The rest I did. I had to modify the faceplates and shelves to get them to work. I also ventilated the shelves. I put a temp controled fan in the top of the rack and sealed the rack completely. the intake air is underneath the rack.

I just ordered the Emp Teck e55's so I will post pics and give a review when they arrive.

That rack is killer.

Amazing how the wall makes that 70 incher look tiny!

This is cool I have a very similar setup except my equipment is in the same room. I thought about putting it in the room behind the wall the tv is mounted on, but I thought "that's stupid no one does that". Maybe now that I've seen it done I'll reconsider. Especially since it would allow my huge center channel to be on a lower stand and allow a larger tv in the space. It also allows the tv to be put at an ideal height.

This is a very nice setup. The abstract art lends the room a very distinguished look. Great job!

It is indeed a very elegant way to do things! I did it for years! Before I made the leap to projection, a Panasonic Plasma resided on the wall through which the projector now shoots its image. Visitors would always ask where the gear was, and when I showed them, she would say "that's so cool!!"

Haha. It does. Makes me want to go out and get a bigget TV. Not going to though because I am working on the theater now. i just want to replace the sub in the living room and the center speaker since I just bought some replacement fronts.

tmaschm: Do it. I think its fun to play around with all this stuff. Your wife might appreciate it too. Just give yourself a few hours to do it.

BrolicBeast: Thanks!

Pain: your set up looks mint! Clean!

I have been thinking about getting a set of the Kilpsch vf-35. Do you like them? How is the bass?

Thanks! The VF-35 are not that bad. You dont need a lot of power to make them sound good. They are directional though and probably becasue of the horn tweeters. I cant really give you an answer on the bass because the bass is crossovered at 80hz and the sub picks up the rest. I just ordered a new set of front and center speakers so I will compair them with no sub in a few days. Possible that I might want to sell them. Not sure yet.

Beast: in your situation it's more of a no brainer to have the equipment in the room behind the couch. I don't know Pains floor plan but I'm assuming that gear is in a bedroom behind that wall. In my case it would be the master bedroom. I don't know that WAF would allow me to have a big rack in the master, but if I could hide everything in a nice piece of furniture it might not be bad.

You can put the rack anywhere in the house. All you need is a few cat5 or cat6 cables for hdmi, remote, etc. The sky is the limit or actually money is.

That tv is absolutely huge, looks good.

Isn't it 'bad' to stack subwoofers? Does it sound different if they are just next to each other?

I never heard it was bad to sack subs. Matter of fact I have seen a lot of people on this forum do the same thing. The reason I stacked the is because that was the sweet spot in the room and also there is another driver and ports closer to ear level. That is also the same reason why I lifted each sub up off the ground and off the top of the other.
