I have made some cosmetic changes yet again. I made new stands, added a small fish tank (empty for now) and moved the sub around (in the back of the room now)
Here is the new rack. If you look closely at my old rack, you will notice the untreated wood, holes and bolts everywhere. Also the speaker stands were flimsy and could only accommodate thin speakers. This new rack looks better and allows for more speaker options and better placement.
I used Polycrylic on the main rack and Poly on the small rack. It's amazing how the same wood can look differently with different finishes. The Polycrylic produces a clear and natural finish while the Poly gives a pee-stained finish, which makes me somewhat unhappy. It's not that bad. It's just that the Polycrylic is more natural. For you DIYers out there, don't use Poly unless you want to add a yellow appearance to your furnitures.
My small room was in danger of looking like a video store with all those dvds all over the place. So to avoid having a bedroom that looks like Block Buster and to save space I bought some cd/dvd storage for my dvd and cd.
