Really great work, btw! I have been looking for something like this for about a year, and almost bought some stuff on ebay, but this looks a lot better!

THANK YOU! I will make a donation soon!

Would also like to see "Full 1080p" in black and gold. It would also be great to get "Sirius XM Satellite Radio" in black and gold.

When I re-size these using Paint Shop Photo Album 5 I get some jaggies and it looks like it's out of focus. How do I clear this up?
Well I got the jaggies out. I have 2 questions though: Why does it look like there's a small flash on each of these and why are they so soft and out of focus?

Thanks so much for the awesome signs! I ordered two 8x10 signs from my WHCC account using the 'standout' mounting option. I'm sure they are going to look sharp when I get them. I'll post photos when they arrive. Thanks again!

"A few days ago, I ordered some signs from WHCC for the theater room... I know, a bit premature, but I just had to see how they would turn out. They are AWESOME! Wayyyy better than I would have thought. Here are some photos of the signs:

If you aren't a professional photographer and can't use WHCC, no worries, you can go to MPIX.com and use their services. I checked out the prices and they're a bit higher, but well worth it. They look way more professional than just a framed photos of the print. My suggestion if you are going to do this, is to use 'lustre coating' on the print. It doesn't smudge when you touch it and it's not high-gloss so it keeps a consistent look in all lights."

This was taken from my build thread, but I wanted you guys to see the kind of quality you can get from the signs.

I made these for my friend for Christmas. I usually buy some acrylic ones from a guy on Ebay, but for whatever reason, he stopped selling them. Anyways, I was running out of time and was thinking of trying the various services mentioned by others on this thread.

I printed out the photos at Wal-Mart using the Kodak Kiosk. The attendants there gave me a look and had a brief discussion about copyright infringement. They decided that I wasn't selling them and that Dolby doesn't make money from signs so it was ok. Anyways, I got them printed out. Then I found these plaques from Hobby Lobby that had a roughly 8x10 face. I routed a hole in the back of the plaques for hanging using a keyhole bit for my router. I sanded the plaques using 200 grit then 400 and 600 grit sandpaper to get a very smooth surface on the front. I spray painted front and back using a satin black Rustoleum brand Spraypaint. I used a spray adhesive (also from Hobby Lobby) to adhere the photos to the face. Surprisingly, they came out pretty good.

The total cost was $15 for three photos at Wal-Mart, plus $8 per plaque at Hobby Lobby. Add in a can of spray paint and adhesive and I figure I spent about $50 for three signs. I still have leftover paint and adhesive. Also, I didn't have time to wait for Hobby Lobby sales or coupons, so it is possible to do it cheaper.

I'll get some pics after they are on my friend's wall so you can see how they look there.

Also, I should mention that I printed out the pics on my photo printer at home. The results were night and day. Definately came out better at Wal-Mart.

MVP:

When I was making mine, I asked stenbough the same thing via PM. I went another route, but he told me he chose an 8x10 size print on 'standout' mount at 3/4 in depth with "lustre" coating.

Jason (aka mheadroom):

Have you considered making some in color? For example, I have an aluminum DTS-ES sign with Red lettering. I could post a photo of it.

I'd be willing to make a donation if we can get some with some color.

I had thought about doing color versions early on but decided it woudl be too much work becasue some of he logo colors are too dark, or too light, or woudl just clash, etc. That's why I choose to do what I did.

I guess i could do a few if I have the time but time is pretty rare in my life right now. =)

Jason, I'll load a picture and see what you think. If you ever get a chance, then we can talk color. I only have a couple in mind.

I realize you put in a lot of effort on what there is already, and I thank you for it.
