Ask the manager if he/she minds if you take it off the wall to see if there is a manufacturer's label on the back. I've found more than one manufacturer this way.

I actually have one, Star Wars EP 4, its very nice however they are arround $40 and are laminated on thick cardboard or Masonite, with a textured finish rather than glass or plastic. They are a non glare surface, and they have a very nice frame on them. I looked arround on the back and such and could not find where they were made. I will take a couple photo's tonight for you and post them. I could look a little harder to see if I can find out where they are made.

I asked the manager where I got it, and they could not tell me where they came from. They just arrived one day she said. They have quite a few of them at our store, some are actual movie posters others are various prints. Some are discounted, like the NASCAR ones. They don;t seem to have any current movies but there are quite a few vintage and older movies. They are mostly the 27x40 variety, I would have bought more but at the time $40 seemed a little high, but after buying a number of actual movie posters and then spending another $20 at wal-mart for a sheep frame, these look prety good for the money!

I have one from The Dark Knight, which I picked up before it was out in theaters, so they do have newer ones as well.

Is it similar to a mounted frame, where the art is glued on a mdf-like material

I picked a couple of these up today in Norfolk, VA. They were on clearance for $9.99. They similar, but not quite as nice as a wood mounted poster. It is a framed poster with no glass and a textured surface on it. I like the way they look and they have tons of different kinds. I picked up a Halo 3 one and Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie poster. I'm going to place one over each of my media shelves. The movie poster for my move rack and the game poster for my game rack. They may be worth $40, but they are awesome for $10. I'm going to drop by another Blockbuster tonight and see if they have the one I'm looking for on clearance. It's baby wearing headphones titled "Pump up the Volume."

Thanks for the info guys. I walked a 3 wood from our current office to the Blockbuster across the street to get two on clearance for $9.99 each for our new office. Ended up with The Terminator and Micky Mouse in Steamboat Willie. I've never seen anything like these and love the textured finish. Left my name and number with them to let me know if any others go on clearance. Will try to post some photos if I get a few minutes.

Here you go, I have just the one but it is a standard 27x40 format, they have other sizes, but all the "movie" poster ones will be 27x40. The Star Wars one I got was $39.95 and they were not discounting them. Many others are discounted as they may prove to "pricey" for the general buyer.

Enjoy!

WOW, so Blockbuster is selling these full size textured posters for $9.99??? I know your StarWars poster was not on clearance, but damn, I gotta go to the nearest blockbuter in town to see if they have some.

Anyone in the Denver area knows if Blockbuster is stocking these posters?

After some aborted attempts at making backlit poster frames I bought 3 of these at Blockbuster last month and really like them. I've put bright spotlamps on them and use them to easily change posters, just take one down and hang the next!

Thanks guys for bringing this up to my attention, according to an employee at Blockbuster, he said he has been working their since last December, and he has always seen these posters at the store.

So I went by the 3 nearest Blockbuster stores and got the following:

- Beowulf ($10)
- Cloverfield ($10)
- James Bond 007 Thunderball ($5)
- James Bond 007 Goldfinger ($10)
- Animal House ($5 - from original $40)
- Terminator ($10)
- 300 ($30 - the only one i paid full price for - and its worth it)
- Friday the 13ths ($10)
- 70" tall cutout Incredible Hulk figure ($8)

They have the same glass-less framed textured posters for a lot of other movies like StarWars $40, Pulp Fiction $40, Incredible Hulk $30, Iron Man $30, Indiana Jones ($30), 30 Days of Night $10, Heroes ($10), The Office, NFL and Baseball teams..etc.

My only complaint with these is that they are not a uniform size. My Dark Knight poster was slightly smaller than my Jaws or Terminator poster.

The Jaws poster was on sale for $12.99, and the Dark Knight poster was not on sale and was $29.99 last summer.
Today I saw another Dark Knight poster at a Blockbuster that was a Joker poster, very cool...

Don't know about Denver, but the Colorado Springs store has had them for a while. Never saw them for that low of a price though, so I'm going to check them out today when I return a movie.

I don't think they are moving as fast as they thought so they are discounting them to get rid of them, but then on the other hand the last time I was there they had a whole bunch more ;-) so it is hard to say, but they are nice for the price specially if you can pick them up for 10 bucks!

For whatever reason, AVS started reformating my url. It's now fixed. One could have just removed the extra http, but that's probably asking too much.

To the OP, no idea who makes them, there is not any marking on them to determine this at all. Thanks for the heads up though! I hadn't been to Blockbuster in years, but stopped in this weekend to look at these posters. They are awesome. I picked up two, The Dark Knight and Indiana Jones Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. They were 29.99 each at my Blockbuster. Well worth it though. I will be back for more soon.

Yep..they are pretty nice. I like the fact that they dont reflect light. I am thinking of picking up the original star wars thrilogy but have only seen return of the jedi and the org star wars, not the empire. Alreay picked up Top Gun and a pretty cool Dark Knight with the joker on it.

Dang I gotta go find a Dark Knight one. I haven't been in awhile and didn't know they had Dark Knight ones. Along time ago I bought the Star Wars (A New Hope) and Indiana Jones (The Last Crusade) ones. My wife and I love them as the textured look is really cool looking, especially up close. At first I too thought they were high ( mine were $40 apiece) but my wife convinced "no way, they come with frames as well". After thinking about it she was right! Frames are really expensive by themeselves. I'm gonna go look for Dark Knight and Iron Man and see which are on clearance.

I purchased Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Last Crusade, and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I have been searching everywhere for Raiders of the Lost Ark, but have come up empty handed. In my search, I was able to find the distributor. They don't have Raiders of the Lost Ark listed, but I have heard of people getting it. Can anyone confirm that the first Indiana Jones movie framed art does exist?

Distributor: Framed Picture Enterprise

I can't post the link because I'm a new user.
