I know that there are some AVS members who have back-yard theater set ups. Some of the folks who requested discs the past few weeks said they had plans to use these slides in a pre-show outside. With the holiday weekend coming up, I expect some people will be answering Coke slide trivia under the stars.... probably with fireworks, too! Hope your families and friends get a kick out of them.

Anyone else who is interested in getting a disc with the slides, PM me.

Have a safe 4th!

The slides are great!!!! Thanks so much.

Sent Paypal on July 3 and received the DVD on July 8th. Quick especially with the holiday sandwiched in the middle.

I put together a movie using Windows Movie Maker - Vista but I think I will see how just copying the slides to my USB harddrive and using my WDTV Media Player works.

Thanks again Steve.

With WD HD Media Player, I'm not sure if you can make playlists. If not, on your PC you'll have to re-name the jepgs so they'll play in the alphabetical or numerical order you want them to...

If you do some random playback function, your trivia questions and answerr will never display in correct order.

Glad you like them! Good luck,

Steven

Same issue I had on my Escient equipment with a Random screen saver. But if you use the same order every time it gets boring very quick after a few times through.

Only solution I could come up with on Escient is making different DVDs to play before the movie with the Q & As. Otherwise just using the non Q & A in random.

Either way the slides are great.

Have you guys tried SuperTal's PreMovie Show...if you have a laptop or HTPC to run his app, it will automate slides/trailers/intros for you, and you never have to burn anything to DVD. Plus you can always go back and change the order os slides, trailers, remove some, add others....

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=916297

One thing to note, you need to use an slightly older version of Quicktime w/ auto updates disabled (7.5.5 will do).

Hopefully, everyone who has requested a disc the past couple of weeks has received their discs by now... even those "across the pond".

If anyone else needs a disc, read over the first post with all details, then contact me.

Thanks!

PayPal sent! Cannot wait. I use XBMC on my computer and it now has a script that will allow it to automatically play slides like this and/or trailers before the movie, so in the script thread at XBMC forums I linked to this thread, so hopefully you will have more customers. Thanks again!

Any reason you don't put up a Torrent of these? Don't have to advertise it on any tracking sites or anything to make it more private but would make it easier and cheaper for people to get a copy and we don't have to give money to the devil (paypal) either...

I know I'd really just want specific parts (disney trivia, etc) and being able to pick which file sections I get would be great too.

Just a thought.

I'm sure he has his reasons and I think everyone should abide by this. Keep it all private among the community...I'd guess, mainly because of copyrighted and trademarked images being used on the slides themselves.

Thanks! That pretty well sums it up. I appreciate that the AVS members have honored my wishes to keep these within our community.

For anyone who chooses not to use Paypal (for whatever reason) I have always allowed payment by snail mail. Several members over the years have PM'ed me to ask for that option.

Finally, as for the cheaper comment--I can't think of anything I've ever added to my own home theater that was priced at a mere $7 shipped. I believe I've been more that fair in that regard. That many members have voluntarily chosen to Paypal a little over and above the $7? I see that as their belief that what I'm offering is priced too cheap--worth more that what I'm asking for my efforts...

Amen. I have one of your older versions and it is very nice. I'm sure it took some time to put together, plus burning the CD and mailing it out, for 7 bucks? It costs me 7 bucks to go to and from work for one day.

Agree - I purchased Vol5 and was well worth the little money its cost. Would love to see more familily orientated Trivia in Vol7, poss on the Pixar movies and maybe LOTR & X-Men

Thank you both for the kind words.

Everyone who has requested a disc the past week or so... they're been mailed out.

I will keep in mind the suggestion for more family-oriented catagories for a Vol. 7. But if you haven't sought the Pixar slides that another AVS member has created, get them. Look for the thread in this forum.

Yep - have those but they have the Fact/Trivia Question & Answer on same slide...... I prefer them on the 'a' & 'b" so I can give audience 10-15s to see if they know answer.

Cheers,
Mark

Just peeking in to say that everyone who has requested a disc the past couple of weeks.... your discs have shipped. Hope you are enjoying them.

While I have yet to create a set of horror-themed trivia, there is a Hitchcock set... so for anyone thinking about Halloween parties, etc. you may find some use for these slides.

Bud,

You may have read over my post too quickly....

There is no horror-specific set of slides [/b]in my collection. However, there are some Hitchcock-themed slides.

Your disc ships tomorrow.
