I've gone through the existing threads that mentioned shelves from Circuit City (out of business) and Best Buy (link dead). I eventually found a thread pointing to the OmniMount CCH-1 shelf - which would be exactly what I'm looking for except for the fact that it doesn't support panels that are completely flat in the back as the back legs need angled surface to rest on. Do you have any other ideas?
My (bedroom) set sits on top of a "one-legged" stand, away from the walls and other furniture so there is no way to place anything below or next to it. I'm trying to to put a DVD player and an HDTV antenna on top of it - both very light.

wow, great idea. i wonder if my center channel would be better off on one of these as opposed to under my tv in the entertainment center. my tv is sitting on an entertainment center that puts the tv only about a foot off the floor. would this be better even though the center would be higher than ear level? i guess which one is better, above or below ear level? thanks.
