Hi
I really like the look of these chairs - seems that some on this forum feel that some Jaymar seats are comfortable, other models not. What about this model ? Any thoughts?
Any place to see them in New England?
Thanks
G

All Jaymar recliners are extremely well built. This particular model is not my favorite because it is not a chaise design recliner. It is also lacking in head support department...

I can't comment on the 152s, but I own the Bass Celebrity Loungers which I've recently been informed are the Jaymar 262s. As rsh said above, they are extremely well built, and these particular seats are ridiculously comfortable (I've found my wife asleep on them more than once).

vespaguy,

You have been misinformed. Originally the Bass industries was the Jaymar only US distributor. Not any longer. Bass makes their own chairs now...

Are you saying that the Jaymar 262s are not the same as the Bass Celebrity Lounger? If you look at the link I provided above, they don't just look similar, they are using the exact same photo for both chairs.

ETA: Here's the thread where I was informed about the Jaymar 262: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...684&highlight=

Not sure about the picture, but last time I talked to Bass, they told me that they are manufacturing their own chairs. I guess they did not bother changing models and their appearance...

No, you haven't been misinformed. That is a Jaymar chair that you likely purchased from a Bass reseller, branded as a Bass chair. As I stated earlier, Jaymar is the manufacturer.

Yes, it is true that Bass is no longer the only US distributor of Jaymar. However, it is my understanding that Bass makes their own chairs AND still sells the Jaymar models.

Clear as mud, right?

Just ordered two straight rows of 3 in beige of the Seatcraft Capella which is only available in black and beige. I hope the significant discount does not come with a step down in quality from the Jaymar 262 and Bass Celebrity Lounger.

seatcraft-capella-dimensions-4.pdf 633k .pdf file

The cupholder accessory pods by Seatcraft are a great idea, light, tablet, or wine glass holder.

Now to Lowe's to have them cut up the boards and 1x7s to spec for the new riser,100x60x7" (likely 2x 50x60x7), this time i have the fiberglass to stuff it too.

Oh boy, this hobby is a total time thief.
