This forum has struck once again. Started out looking for a decent amazon popcorn machine, ended up ordering a Paragom Theater 8. While we don't always watch TV together, the whole crew is 7, and at some point you start to get tired of more than 3 batches.
Added a mix of prepackaged and bulk supplies to the order before I was done. Forgot to add a scoop, oh well, that is what Amazon is good for.
So far, for experimentation have ordered:
At-the-movies-popcorn portion packs (case of 4oz and case of 8oz)
White Coconut oil (no beta carotene)
Original flavacol (with yellow die)
Naked oil bars
Popcorn glaze (Carmel and chocolate).
Shipping is he huge hidden cost on all of that, almost 1/2 he cost. Bulk online is probably better, but small quantities, shipping reads.
Other, non online intended experiments:
Clarified butter-the original buttery tasting popping oil. Pretty sure it died out due to cost, not flavor.
Lard-another very traditional popping oil-especially for kettle corn.
Bacon grease-everything is better with bacon, right?
Still looking for kettle corn flavoring mix. The one I found had shipping too high. That said, this one is probably possible to do without a mix as well.
