So I finally got around to finishing my basement and got permission to purchase a projector. The one I decided on is the epson 3010e. From what I read, the lens has to be within .1 " of the top of my screen so given that, that means it'll have to be about 20" from the ceiling. The thing is, I only have an 8' ceiling so I'd like a mount that I can push back up when I'm done with the projector. Some sort of scissoring mechanism (manual since I'd imagine something electric would be expensive) Any suggestions (my budget for the mount is going to be about $200ish unfortunately)

TIA!

You could also take the stanchion, cut it, put a hinge on it and mount a magnet on the ceiling to hold it up when not in use.

all fired up
