Just found this thread, looking for framing ideas. And there's some beauties in here!
Bluer101 took that approach, sort of, recently.... Except he's simply using the built in usb port of a hdtv. :
Look what Black Friday got me!
I started messing around with converting digital posters and settled on 1080x1600 resolution. After building up a 1200 poster library,
I tried them on my 3-4 year old Samsung and what a cool project this somewhat "KISS" option is! They look great and the
image size comes out to about 20x27". Any takers to try some on a 50, 55, and 60" 1080P hdtv and get back to me on image
size? And if anyone has a 4K hdtv to see if the usb ports upscale, I'd love to know the answer to this, also.
The built in media viewer slideshow works great, and I have tried folders with up to 200 posters, with about 30 folders to scroll
through. A 16G usb drive looks like it will hold close to 50,000 posters at this resolution.
