Built a soffit with a cavity for concealed lighting. It will be used only as accent lighting that will shine on the ceiling. Receptacles are hooked up to a switch on the wall.

I tried using LED rope lights. I like the white light, but since the bulbs are about 1" apart the light is not even.

Total distance for lighting is 60'. Any ideas on how to have a nice "glow" affect without spending over $200 (if thats even possible).

Not sure if there is enough room. The cavity is only 2.25" deep x 2" tall. I wish I made it bigger. +1 bonehead move for me!

Actually I just found a site that has sizes that will fit. Problem is we are talking over $500. At least I know what there is the right size, but I will definately keep looking.

What about EL-wire i dont know how bright it is but it is a solid light and not that expensive

Love the idea and the price, but based off pictures I dont think it would be bright enough.

http://www.lighttape.com/ check this out it is el wire in tape form supposed to be bright they have a few pics one of a home theater in there maybe order a sample to see how bright they are they also make a neon led rope light but they are very expensive.
