The Alien series includes 217 slides.

Newsflash: I have recently applied a new Brightness & text clarity update to these. Before and after examples can be seen beside each sets original examples below.

Note that I’m just a Home Theater enthusiast like many of you and not an expert by any means at graphic design or video compilation. That being said I’ve done my best to make everything look and sound as professional as possible. If you do find errors let me know and I will correct them and email you the corrected slide.

Slides are in JPEG format 1920x1080 as well as in their original paint.net format so anyone can edit them.

Here is an example of the movies

Notice the accompanying music to the video is purely for demonstration

I will include a .TXT file with the links where the free editing software can be downloaded. The applications I used to create these slides are….

Paint.net - for Slide editing & creating
PhotoStory 3 - for compiling the Slides into a video with transitions
AVC - for converting video formats

Below I will post samples and my progress on the project. If anyone has any suggestions fell free to reply to the thread.

Keep me posted on the progress of these. I should be able to send you a PayPal for the Pirates slide this weekend. Thanks for your hard work, these look great! And as I mentioned in the Pirates thread, one can never have too many slides!

Looking good but you got a typo in your middle shot there. You got "pervious" instead of previous.

Another typo, in the "caffeine break" slide posted... it should read "the film's about to start" or "the film is about to start".

noticed another typo you spelled "sulaco" wrong; otherwise this is awesome. how do these things work? are they for HTPCs or "disc swapping" with players? also are there any funny "no smoking" slides

Thanks for reporting the error, I am in error checking phase on all these slides myself.

As for Disc Swapping I'm not familiar with the concept. Do you have a link that will get me up to speed on the process?

I'm sure there are a plethora of ways to use these. Since they are all in JPEG format they should be fairly versatile.

I have always used Photo Story 3 to put them into a slide video file.

The files are named after the movie Q(#)(alpha) i.e. Alien Q1a , Alien Q1b and so on so they should play in order.

As far as smoking slides yes there are a few where I could find a scene that would work. Most of them say something like "Time for a smoke break? Please take it outside" or something to that effect. Here is an example...

i meant is there a way to use them with a ps3(or any other bluray player with a USB port) other than ripping to a thumb drive or popping the disc out the putting the movie in

Steaming over your network would work too, I assume that's what you meant by HTPC. Otherwise like you said you can burn them to a DVD or rip the slides to a thumb drive.

I know there are several programs out there like XBMC that support slides and movies, not sure what they are capable of doing though.

I have found all the errors in these slides I can find, waiting for beta testers to receive their copies for review before we release. We are VERY close.

I did notice that on the Q&A slides for Alien Resurrection that the work Resurrection at the top in green was not very visible in screen tests. So I changed it to red, not my first choice but it seems to make it stand out the best. Here is an example of the change...
