I'm a newbie seeking some advice for my basement TV room.

My components will be in a closed cabinet in the same room, but not in line of sight of where we will sitting to watch TV.

I think I have to go RF vs, IR system because the cabinet door?

I'm planning on getting a Harmony 900 and this RF repeater. Am I missing anything? Does anyone have any preference or suggestions for a better way to go?

Those two things don't go together... If you're spending money on an RF remote, you want the Hamony RF base station to go with it. The RF repeater system you linked to won't replace the Hamony base station - it's a standalone transmit/receive pair.

If the gear is just located in a cabinet - if you have a wire available or can add one, a simple wired IR repeater system would be the cheapest route:

I use the harmony 900 because my equipment is in another room. I highly recommend it.
