I hope this is the right spot to post this.

I just stumbled across an auction for vintage theater equipment and seats. It looks like they're trying to finance a remodel.

As good of a place as any.

I think the text about remodelling is just hype. The Avalon has been closed since 2001 and the owner is mostly using the space as storage for his ambulance business. He doesn't seem to have a commitment here. Otherwise, why would he be selling off all the good bits that would appeal to the classic movie palace crowd?

Two other revival theaters in Milwaukee have fallen on hard times in the last couple of years. There are still a couple of successful ones left; the Downer, The Oriental and the Fox-Bay, so I guess I just don't see it happening.

Thanks for the tip though. I might just bid on a row of seats for my basement.
