Hi guys,
Im having a hard time finding out what people use to secure theyre projector when mounting to the ceiling, just in case the projector mount gives in or cracks/breaks etc...
Ive heard of kensington locks and it looks like my projector( epson 6010/tw9000) has that feature, but wondering if that is good enough/strong enough?

Trying to see what and how people use to prevent theyre projector falling off.
Guessing a thin wire strap with something on each end to secure on each party would be sufficient but maybe theyre something out there that you can already buy?

Panasonic packages a 16" long wire rope "leash" along with fender washers with their larger commercial projectors. (50 lbs+) One end gets lagged to a structural element in the ceiling or looped around the hardware used to lower the mount. the other end is pinned under the mounting screws for the bracket used to hang the projector. It's mostly a safety for moving the projector on and off it's mount.. If you are using appropriate sized mounting hardware, connected securely to a structural element, you shouldn't have any real worries about the whole apparatus falling.
Kensington locks are primarily designed for theft prevention, so the insertion point on most electronics is pretty well reinforced. I would suspect it would hold the weight of the unit itself, assuming you take up most the slack so it can't gain any momentum if things break free during the apocalypse.
