Ok, I'm looking into seats and thought Lane was a good choice. Someone says Lane is going out of business. I thought people here would know. Is Lane going out of business?

I'm going to go with "no". Lane is owned by Furniture Brands International, a public-traded company (NYSE: FBN). They reported earnings two weeks ago, and talked about Lane and their new recliners specifically. If they were shutting down that business, it certainly would have been talked about in their earnings conference call or in the filings.

So let's put that rumor to bed - we don't need any self-fulfilling prophecies taking out the company! biggrin.gif

There have been rumors for quite a while and there has been no confirmation of them going out of business. In my opinion, and from what I have heard, they may have a buyer for the company. But this is all speculation and rumors. Let's all hope for the best for this American company.

If you do go with Lane and are concerned, I'd like to suggest that you purchase a 5 year third-party warranty from the reseller for your peace of mind. A good one like one from Montage Furniture Services will cover most things like power, frames, mechs, upholstery, etc.

I live in a town where Lane is a huge employer, and I'm a production manager at a facility that would benefit from extra workers flooding the job pool. We have heard nothing about this?

Ummmmm........it's not Blue Ray, it's Blu-Ray. Please stop the madness.

Lane is a part of the Furniture Brands. No one knows what is going to happen to Lane or any other companies that are under Furniture Brands umbrella, but if if you Google Furniture Brands you will see that they are in trouble...
