Why on earth is leather so popular for theater seating? It's so uncomfortable, noisy, cold in the winter, and sticky in the summer. Does anyone have any recommendations for non-leather seating? I'm looking for a row of 4, preferably black with a loveseat middle and curved configuration. The only set I've seen around my price range is the Seatcraft Buccaneer line:

Do any of the dealers on this board carry any fabric chairs?

Leather is popular for two reasons: Durability and Cleanability (yeah, I know that's not a word, but hey). Some fabrics require dry cleaning or special cleaners. There is absolutely nothing wrong with fabric, but do check the cleaning code on the fabric before purchasing. Here is a helpful link that describes what each code is:

I hate leather seating too. Couches and in vehicles. mad.gif

It is durable, but I'm not sure that outweighs the cold clammy, or hot feelings you get. It's probably partially a status symbol thing. biggrin.gif

Yeah I can't understand the logic of buying something purely because it lasts a long time and it's easy to clean. Neither one of those are primary functions. I don't know about the rest of the world, but I buy a chair to sit on comfortably. Secondly you'd think in the home theater world ,where we have audiophiles aplenty, people would care more about the screeching and moaning of the leather as people fidget around during a movie

Did you buy the Buccanneer? I'm about the pull the trigger but can't find any reviews of this model.
