So we finally broke down and bought a sectional leather couch that reclines electrically. Well, my flipping dog who has never chewed anything but one shoe, decided to chew the cord that plugs into the wall. My question is this--- is this something that we can fix ourselves or do we call someone? And I am guessing that I would need an electrician??? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Without seeing the power cord, supply or knowing the manufacturer of the couch, it's not an easy question to answer. Should you be able to replace it? Yes. Do you need an electrician? That is a question only you can answer. Have you done any wiring/replacing of wires in the past? How comfortable are you with that kind of work? Would you be worried it would short out and start a fire if you did it yourself? If so, then you should get a pro to do it for you.

I would start by getting in touch with either the place you bought it from, or the manufacturer. Let them know what you need to replace and they should be able to point you in the right direction.
