So I bought a TV stand with mount from Craigslist and apparently it's missing the bracket that mounts to the TV. The situation is almost identical to the one here. I was also under the impression that the TV would mount directly to the square swivel plate (pic below). I can't find the manufacturer of the stand and the original owner has conveniently become unresponsive. What I'm wondering is that could a fixed/tilt wall mount work in place of the missing bracket? My TV is a slim Samsung 55" listed at 40lbs. My assumption would be that if I can find a mount that supports my TV size and weight and lines up to the holes on the plate that I should be okay. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Honestly if i were you i wouldn't risk it. Just a buy new stand. I have seen stands like this with only a square bracket, but only for small TVs not 55"
