Home theater racks?

I'm getting ready to build my first dedicated home theater room and see many of you have home theater racks that have your electronic components stacked and sunk into the wall. Some have faceplates around the systems so you cant see behind it. Where do you get these? Do you have pics of yours?

The shelves and faceplates are from Middle Atlantic. RSH custom shelves.

For a rack, watch craigslist and ebay. You can save A TON of cash using those two sites. I bought my rack on Craigslist and some shelves and faceplates off ebay. I have spent less on my total rack with shelving than just a rack would have cost me.

Yes. On the other side of that wall is my unfinished storage room. I built a "closet around the rack with drywall, 2x4's, and a solid oak door (also found on Craigslist).

The most important part of finding a rack is to make sure it is a standard 19-inch wide four post rack and has the standard 5/8"-5/8"-1-2" universal hole pattern. Most racks will match this pattern.

FYI - My rack is actually a Chatsworth Quadrarack, but I use Middle Atlantic shelves. As long as its a standard 19 inch wide rack that that hole spacing, everything is interchangeable.

I found a great deal on a Middle Atlantic MRK-4426-av rack for only $190. Is this what I should be looking for?

Do those face plates come pre-cut for the devices or do you make them yourself? I have black panels but having the slot cut and the player etc. fitted looks much better :-)

RSH shelves are cut for you by Middle Atlantic and are ordered based on your device model.

I have a middle atlantics ASX rack and looking to upgrade to rotating instead of the pull out. If your deal didn't work out, just PM me.

Hey Deewan - I actually have the same power center as you do. I didn't like how the silver stood out, so I spray painted it black - its really easy. Plus, the faceplate comes off without turning anything off - so you can still watch while its off..
