Less than 24hrs until their kickstarter goes live and *sigh* I no longer have the funds I set aside specifically for this, had to get a new "new to me" car as my old car died, so there went all my available income... so sucks, I really really hope they do well in their kick starter because I can not afford D-Box over priced offerings....

I missed the super early birds, but got in also at the next level!

I think a great thing about this is that even if you have DBOX installed on a seat, you can still use Immersit on it! Right? Obviously not at the same time, but for example if i use dbox for movies on my seat and when I'm gaming i turn off dbox and turn on immersit instead! Hence, you can get the best of both worlds

Hopefully the dbox actuators can easily just sit on the immersit plates.

Congrats, I only wish I had the funds to get in on super early as I sat there and literally watched it fill up, maybe I will come across some extra funds and make it to the next level but unlikely at this point...

As to your question should work as long as the total weight including those sitting does not go beyond 1100 to 1200lbs, you should be good to go.

Immersit competitor for D-Box

So will this be around 1,000$ dollars then. When will these arrive in people's homes. Also has anyone heard how many db the compressor will make in the room that powers this?
I wonder how this would do on a row of 3 HT chairs on one frame. They say it will hold up to 1200 pounds.

well Im going to guess roughly $1200.00usd for the system again this is just my own math calculating the early bird special and the fact they said that it was 60% retail price, so yeah it may end up being a grand but still even then, thats a hell of a deal compared to DBOX lol...

As to your question on noise level still waiting on the final number, they have made several revisions to the unit and each time making it more and more silent and Im sure they will continue to due so until they start the manufacturing process. The moment I do have such info I will post it here for sure.

Being (from my understanding) that Immersit has greatly reduced the travel of their "Pads" (from about 4" to between 1.18" & 1.57"), you would think they would update their images. Very misrepresented of what the final product will be.

They are working on new marketing material but it took a bit of a back seat in focus of getting the product ready for the kick starter and more so ready for CES.

Where does it say that they reduced their travel from 4" down? I am thinking about pledging, but I am now...not so much worried but worried that <2" of travel might not be enough to really add the effect I am looking for?

D-Box has a similar travel, same goes for their commercial theater setups, are you thinking of one of those hardcore full motion racing seats you see that you need to be strapped down to use?

Ah I didn't know what the D-Box seats travel was. Not looking for anything crazy like a motion sims, I just didn't want to commit to something thinking it will be so spectacular and then be disappointed because the effects are not as great. But if it is similar to the D-Box I would be fine with it. For me it's really only going to be used for Video games.

I have subscribed to this thread. I am very interested in seeing what comes of this. Even though D-Box is a Canadian company, they have done NOTHING to take this mainstream, am I am not paying 20K to have motion seating. This company failed, miserably. Which is unfortunate, because I would have loved to see another great Canadian company rise.

I really look forward to reports on what these guys do

I can't imagine what it would be like to play a first person shooter with this. Curious to see the progress and how the company makes out.

Will Immersit also be 100% synced to the action of movies like D-box does? How is it connected? Do you need a box/PC?

There is a box that sits behind your couch. It has a microphone and listens to the sound of the movie to know where you are at (think Shazaam and the other what song is playing software). It then syncs the motion to where you are...

Yup this is what allows it to work even with streaming services and gaming systems.

Here is an update, the company was full of ****. They took the money and made their own version of butt kickers for the sofa and told all of us who invested in motion seating to **** off.

If you read from the beginning you will see I was very weary of these guys from the star. Poor planning poor communication and now poor execution. Daniel Chaves is the one who made them appear to be nobles of the highest order. Now I am out a 1k and 2 years of my time.

Perhaps you received a different email than me. The email I received stated that the product was too complex to mass produce in its current state. They wanted to reduce the complexity and get it working 100% before sending it out. There was no time frame available for how long that would take. They then gave three options for those who backed them:
1) Continue waiting. You will receive it when we have the product we promised
2) Receive a FULL REFUND via Pay Pal.
3) Instead of waiting or getting a full refund, you can opt to receive the bass shaker version they did successfully produce, plus the remaining portion of your backing amount as a refund.

While I am disappointed as the next guy, I hardly think the two above posts are a fair representation of the email I received from the company as a backer.

When did you receive this email? I received no such email from kickstarter system.

I even emailed them asking for a refund but never got any response back.

6/13 for the one where they talked about officially offering refunds then 6/28 where they put up the options. It didn't come through the Kickstarter, it came through their Mobilize.io page they have been using for communication.
