I don't why I did not think of that. I also have an IR thermometer.

The cabinet thermometer registers 81.9

The T9's probe says 87-88

I raised the T9 and hit the to of the AVR in different spots ranging from 86.9-87.5

Can the top of the AVR be that warm just from stand-by mode?

Maybe the T9 is better at reading temperature than an independent gauge???

This seems strange. I think the temperature probe is a little off.
The receiver has not been on, the temperature gage that I have in the cabinet is registering 81.9 degrees where as the T9 jumps between 88 and 89 degrees and the fans are on.

Any thoughts?
Do you have any additional zones on? I have noticed that if I have Zone 2 on while the main power is off, it will still run warm like you are describing. If I turn off Zone 2, it stays at room temp when the power is completely off.

only on Zone 1

There was a router next to the AVR. I moved it away.

I'll touch base with Denon tomorrow and get their thoughts

When my receiver is off at room temp, it reads 78-80 depending on my room. When I do normal Directv watching at moderate volumes, I get around 88-90. I have the temp set to 96 or 98 I forget, on Econ. When I watch a movie, it never goes above 93. I don't ever feel my receiver even a bit warm anymore. This thing is just amazing tbh.

These sound cool - no pun intended. So the difference between the T series and the S series is the customization abilty of the T series. My equipment is in a totally different room. I just need something to help more the air. These look perfect, and it looks like the difference is just the ability to customize how it operates. Can anyone confirm this?

Isn't the difference between the T8 and the T9 is the T8 there is a rear exhaust vs the T9 the exhaust is vertical from the top of the cooler?

I was asking the difference between the S models and the T models. But yes, the only difference between the 8 and 9 is where it vents.

Typed on a tiny keyboard, excuse any typos

Darn, sorry about that. I was tired from installing the T9 and three MultiFan S3s and did not notice the "S"

Lol....no worries! From what I can read the only difference is the front display and customization capabilities of the T series. I'll probably order a few S models.

Coupon and concerns

Hi gents,
Where the heck is this coupon for the AC Infinity cooler? Unable to find it. On a side question I just ordered ML 50XT and two Edge in walls and am gonna try and run them with my denon 910w. Speakers are 4 ohm and having heat and distortion concerns. Am I ok for now until saved for new av receiver or over reacting?

AVS17X. If you read the whole thread you'd see it's mentioned many times.

I have mine on smart mode makes it little less sensitive. Alarm set at 95 and I have both of my amps set at 85 degrees and my Marantz 8802a at 86 degrees. I keep the fans on low and my units stay cool.

I think it is, but that's just my opinion. I've got mine in smartmode, two degree steps, starting at 80F for fan speed one, on up - max. speed 4 at 86 degrees. Does a pretty good job, on warm days (no A/C in the house, so warm = 79-85F) - temps run about 86-90 as indicated by the T8 with cabinet door closed.

My two T8s arrived today to replace an Antec fan that has been on top of an NAD T 975 for a few years, and to add one to my D2v. I just ordered a Multifan S4 to go on top of my satellite box.

Thanks for the heads up on the discount guys! I just ordered 2 T8's for my Parasound amps which are enclosed in my Salamander rack. This will make my life much easier as my wife HATES that I leave the front doors open to keep the amps cool. BTW I originally bought the extended cooling fans for the Salamander furniture and they sucked so I took them back. I was looking for something just like this.

LG 65C7p | Sony PS3 | Sony PS4 | Apple Ariport Express | FIOS TV and Internet | Emotiva UMC-200 | Parasound HCA2003a | Parasound HCA1500a x 2 | Samson S1000 | Berhinger BFD | Monster HTS3500 | AC Infinity Aircom T8 x 2 | NHT 1.5 | NHT VS2 | NHT Super Ones | SVS PC Ultra x2 | Harmony Elite | Salamander Venice 237 | Sound Anchors Cone Coasters | Vibrapods

Please excuse dust in last pic. Although brand new Marantz and Emotiva, it's in my old living room and since building the media room this past year with the rack you see pictured, no one goes in the LR any longer. Shame, really, as there's a 75" Samsung there.

Apologies for the sloppy white conduit going up to the 86" LG. When building the room, I ran a thick Blue Jeans HDMI cord through wall but it somehow got damaged when the foam insulation was shot in. I didn't know about running a hard conduit for it at the time. That white vertical one will be painted color of the wall (eventually) and hung straight.

Very nice looking system and a BEAUTIFUL RACK! WOW! Here is mine.

Received my T8 last night from Amazon. Unfortunately the internal power cable had popped off the connector so I had to do some surgery to get that reattached. Was not difficult to take the metal cover off (10 or so small screws) and it is running perfectly once the cable was reattached.

Well you totally inspired me. In a moment of "that's absolute genius, why didn't I think of it before?" I last week purchased a 42U rack and spent the weekend setting it up. What amazed me was my husband also thought it was a genius idea and agreed to it! Still got a bit of work to do finalising/replacing fans (got one AC Infinity in there that is silent, and a rack fan that came with the rack and most definitely isn't...), but as a starting point it's great.

LG OLED55C6T, Yamaha RX-A2050, Q Acoustics 3010, 3050, 3090 speakers and 3070 sub, Yamaha YST-SW030 rear sub, Sony BDP-S6500, LG UP970, Fetch TV Mighty, IQ2HD, Apple TV Series 4, Pioneer CLD-D5V laserdisc, eeColor LUT+Lightspace HTL+i1Display Pro and DreamScreen, housed in a Dataworld 42U rack & AC Infinity S9

Very quiet. I leave it on Smart mode so it ramps up the fans as the temperature rises. Levels 1 and 2 are basically silent, and level 3 would only be noticed during scenes with no noise. Mine almost never gets above level 2 unless I really crank the receiver for a couple hours.

I got my fans. Easiest thing to setup ever. One question, my amps are on all the time. What target temp should I set things at? Here are a couple of pics.
