The too hard to believe aspect for me was that the SS agent could be incomunicado and that wouldn't result in dozens of agents and police officers immediately trying to find him.

Atlas just shrugged!

Not every SS agent is in a high-alert type situation.

If there's no reason for anyone to think anything is actually wrong, there's not going to be a mobilization.

SWAT teams aren't called out every time a SS agent's phone dies…

Last night's episode was a good back to basics 24 episode. A good mix of action and drama without going over the top. It is good they showed that Dubako had been in America for awhile. At least it shows he did not establish this network of henchmen and double agents over night.

A) I'm sure Hillary Clinton or Laura Bush have more than one Agent
B) They have almost as much protection as the actual President
C) Communication of location of Husband/Wife of President is probably real-time

I'm not saying its bringing the show down, I just think its kind of ridiculous...obviously the plot wouldn't work if they had a team of SS agents watching the President's Spouse

I'm surprised that very few people are talking about 24 today. Did most people decide to watch Heroes last night instead of 24?

Fox won the 18-49 demo, CBS won the overall evening. NBC was fourth among the big 4.

Honestly, and don’t hate me for this, there just hasn’t been much to converse about this year. Maybe it has to do with been there and done that so often, it’s lost its edge. JMO.

The reason I don't post more in this thread is because of all the negativity. I disagree with what seems to be the prevailing opinion here, so I just mostly stay out of it. I discuss it every week with my friends who watch it.

Ah, you're right. House came on and made me forget all about 24; I don't care much for Dr. House.

I didn't think that 24 was too unbelievable this week except for the fact we are to believe the well-known third world thug snuck into the US and is living the Burbs life in Virginia with a girlfriend?

Family member of the President as a hostage. How original. I don't expect 24 to be retreading stories from The West Wing.

Now we've hit the point in the season where the first story arc kind of wraps up and what we think the season was all about ends up wrong. This is where the season can be saved or go horribly wrong.

I'm still watching because Jack is still Jack and Renee has nice potential.

I didn't see this week's 24 for a very simple reason: it was on against Heroes and The Closer, both of which I had listed higher on my TiVo's Season Pass list. The result was that my TiVo didn't record it. I didn't even realize I had missed it until I saw Mike's post. All was not lost, though, I watched on Fox's Web site this afternoon. I thought it was a good 24 episode. It was exciting fun.

That's what I was thinking. Will they "drop the nuke" too early again and spend 18 episodes flapping around like a fish on dry land after an exciting start?

So far I'm enjoying this season. Jack kicking ass, hot female Fed, Tony back from the dead (and I'm buying it), gun fights and explosions and not only Jack going rogue this time but an entire crew of ex-CTU.

Entertaining action thriller TV so far. Now I just hope they can keep it that way.

I attribute the lack of comments to the lack of major incidents and a lack of stupidity in comparison to last season. If a show isn't an arc full of mystery and just spends 60 minutes doing it's thing competently there isn't much to discuss. That's why shows like CSI, Criminal Minds, Medium etc. don't get much in the way of comments.

So far this season of 24 has been 24 doing what 24 does. We know the routine now. When they blow up another nuke, kill a lead character or have another "holy ****!" moment that's when traffic will pick up.

This isn't totally on topic but I just thought I'd toss in my two cents.

One thing I really miss from the first season of 24 is the 'real time' element of the show, like where we wouldn't see a person while they drive 20 minutes to a location and basically were allowed to follow another part of the story during that time. Now it's like everyone has a teleport machine.

I still really enjoy though show though, it's the only show that I get honestly excited to watch.

Just got around to watching this. I watched Heroes instead.

I too was shocked that they got the firewall so fast. I wonder what they will do next. I can't imagine the whole thing will be about the president's husband. Good episode, I was really into it.

I didn't like the look Tony gave as Jack walked away, made me think he is up to something else.

I agree that last season's problem was that the big climax, the bomb, came early and it was downhill from there. I also agree that this year is much better, particularly having Jack back in full bore Kick ass mode. Better yet, the hot female FBI agent is proving to be as ruthless as Jack can be. Tony being back in the mix makes things better yet, although, I still can't figure out if he is a double, triple, or quadruple agent.

It was hilarious when JG's character pointed out to the plant manager that she wouldn't normally let anyone call her "honey" -- that was such a ridiculous comment in that situation! But it was also a case of the real-life JG's attitude (perceived attitude, admittedly) bleeding into the fictional character's persona. I wonder how much of that is her, and how much of that is the writers' doing?

As for the actresses' attractiveness, Agent Freckles is leading the way this season, with Chloe looking better than ever, and JG's character a distant last place, whomever else may be considered...

Now that the brunette has been knocked off, the drool factor is at a critical stage. I hope they have someone coming up shortly to pick up the slack. Red is attractive and has a nice body, but I’m not big on redheads. Chloe is cute, has a great body, and is good for a rip-roaring one-night stand, but that’s it. The brunette has been dead for almost 2 weeks, yet I’m still fantasizing about her.
