The final season begins Friday, 10 ET. There are only 8 episodes in this final season.

I have setup my TiVo to record the season premiere and my season pass is still in effect. Until I saw your post, I had not realized that this season would have only 8 episodes. That's disappointing. TNT did something similar when they picked up Southland this season. The season has only 10 episode. Still, if this season's In Plain Sight shows turn out to be as good as this season's Southland shows have been, I'll be a happy camper.

I'm looking forward to it. It is easily the best show on USA despite being thrown into the Friday night bonfire.

A bit of a weak opener and formula but then it is McCormack's character and what she does with it that keeps me watching.

I finally got around to watching the season inaugural and was underwhelmed. As usual, Mary McCormack was funny but there was way too much soap opera in the show. Starting to look like In Plain Sight has run out of ideas and stayed a season too long. I'll watch the next episode but if it isn't a whole lot better than the current one, I'm out.

You might as well stay with it... This is the final season and I believe only 8 episodes. you will be 25% through the final season after this week's episode.

Yeah baby!  It's Halloween!

The "soap opera" may well have been to establish some back story needed for ground on this final season.

As was true with the season premiere, I was late watching the second episode but finally got around to it today. I thought it was one of the best shows of the series. No Mama and no Brandi. I could get used to that. Particularly loved Mary's interaction with her odd Alpaca raising protectee. The scene in which the weird gal with a house full of dolls and rabbits had a psychotic break and held Delia at gunpoint for a while was moving. Finally, I liked the advice the Washington lady gave Mary to start asking for help when she needed it. If the rest of the season is as good as this episode, we are in for some fun.

I always thought the plotline with her alcoholic mother was good, and it went somewhere... but Brandi never seemed to go anywhere as a plot. I don't know whose fault that was, but Brandi never really evolved as a character... at least the mother evolved.

Yeah baby!  It's Halloween!

I watched episode 3 last night and was again pleased and relieved to note that mama and Brandi were nowhere in sight. The chemistry between Mary and Marshall is wonderful. Their snarky comments to each other are great fun. I also always like Dr. Finkel, the shrink, played by Ali Marsh. Marsh is married to Frederic Weller, who plays Marshall. Weller and Marsh are good friends of Mary McCormick, who plays Mary. McCormick is their daughter's godmother.

Each day's shoot must be like a family reunion.

I'm not sure Brandi was ever supposed to be more than eye candy. She worked best when she was a background character, but not when they were writing stories about her.

Finally watched last week's two episodes and am now caught up. This season's shows continue to be outstanding. That's not just because of the absence of Mama and Brandi, although their absence has been a breath of fresh air. I liked the bittersweet tone of both the bigamy and female impersonator episodes. They were funny and exciting but they were kind of sad too. I'm sorry the show is getting so close to its end. I am going to miss Mary's snarky banter.

What I'm impressed with is the twists that the writers are throwing into episodes. This is good series writing on a low budget in an era where budget cuts have produced less than entertaining series. I often wonder in McCormack is playing herself and they write around her cynical personality?

Unlike many final season shows In Plain Sight is going out with a bang.

Decent ending to the show.

I kinda expected the office was going to close and they'd all have to go their separate ways, but overall it was satisfying.

I liked it. I'm not sure it helped the story at all to have Brandi suddenly appear all preggo, but whatever. It was a good wrap up to all the other characters and story lines. More satisfying than most series finales.

Great series! Sad to see it go as the good ones seem to be few and far between.

Finally got around to watching the series finale. As usual, Mary and Marshall were hugely appealing and, also as usual, any amount of Mama and Brandi was too much Mama and Brandi. Anyway, the finale was a worthwhile effort, which neatly closed this fine series. I shall miss it.
