It is not "as of"

it is "by"

which means it could be sooner. The schedule of when each individual FSN goes full-time HD will probably vary (some sooner than others).

Are you still firm on your HD games for both the Ducks and Kings? They have both stated that only ten (10) games each will be in High Definition!

Woohoo! Red Wings FSNHD schedule is out, and I counted 58 HD games for the Wings this year (that is counting FSN, Versus, and NBC in there). Here is the link if one is so inclined to look up the Red Wings schedule. As of yesterday, that schedule was not up there so other teams on FSN may want to check out their local affiliates page.

Some new info., the Ducks have announced that FSN and Prime will do a total of 10 games in HD...10!!! In So Cal, 10 games in HD, the Penguins are doing over 60 in the 'burg. Anyone heard if Vs will finally be available in HD in the Commercial packages for Bars and Restaurants???? They have not been available since the D up-grade last year. Really sad...

Hard to believe only 10 HD games each for Ducks and Kings in 2008-09! All Laker home games on FSN West and all Clipper home telecasts on Prime Ticket will be in HD. Just goes to prove how little respect hockey gets in Southern California!

Over 60 in HD! Is that FSN doing 60 in HD or the total number of games in HD? If that number doesn't include VS/NBC games we may be in the mid 70's!

Of course the first round of the playoffs will be in SD on FSN so they can do the first week of Pirate games in HD instead

It's listed as being in HD on the nhl.com schedule, but unless something changes between now and Sunday, it looks like that schedule is wrong.

Only the Rangers vs Lightning game says HD, not the 2:30 game. Golf Channel has PGA Tour coverage all weekend now but it doesn't start until 3:00 so it is very likely that VSGLD-HD will have the NHL game at noon.

Keep in mind:

May 2008, FSN Networks announced that FSN, the industry’s largest group of regional sports networks, will begin transitioning to round-the-clock HD telecasts in the first quarter of 2009.

This ambitious initiative means that FSN will have the capability to produce its entire slate of more than 3,000 Major League Baseball, National Basketball Association, National Hockey League and NCAA Football and Basketball events in HD—far and away more than any other sports TV provider in the U.S.

The 16 owned-and-operated FSN regional sports networks are already the most prolific producers of HD sports programming in the country with more than 1,700 live high-definition telecasts of the MLB, NBA, NHL and NCAA Football and Basketball. Since debuting its HD telecasts nearly five years ago with approximately 200 games, FSN has essentially doubled its HD schedule every year, making its RSNs the largest providers of local HD events in America.

FSN’s transition to full-time HD in 2009 will be made possible by Fox Networks Group investment and construction of the nation’s largest and most technically state-of-the-art television transmissions center, Fox Network Center Houston. The 184,000-square-foot facility will be able to handle more signal traffic than any other similar facility, including as many as 40 live games in a single day.

FSN will determine HD roll-out plans for each of its individual regional sports networks based on several factors including team telecast rights and distribution agreements.

I was a bit worried when I first came into this thread. We are not in an NHL market and therefore I only get to see nationally televised games. Then, I noticed all the games on Versus...thank goodness!

Well, the Thrashers website has the TV schedule up and currently none of the SportSouth broadcasts are indicated as HD like some of the national ones are... I just don't get it.

With over 200 HD games a year, I keep up with all of my favorite teams. NHL Center Ice package can not be beat.

Rangers HD from Switzerland today at 12 noon et looked really good. Better PQ than some NHL arenas ... the usual bad ones are Tampa, Florida and Atlanta. Second game from Bern is at 130p et Weds ... then the NHL opener from Prague Sat and Sun. All HD. Pretty good ... For those of you not on any satellite or centre ice pkge, i thnk vs. is carrying one or both of the Prague games [noon et] cbc is carrying dunno if hd.

The NHL Network is also carrying the games from Europe[replay of todays game at 10pm et btw]

If a movie or concert video or a TV show isn't on blu ray it darn well should be.

It isn't looking good. I sent emails to HDnet and the only response I got was they know nothing. They always did THurs/Sat games and there is nothing in programming guides or on HDnet yet.

Unfortunately, I don't get MSG network, and the NHL Network showed the game in SD!

I am hoping the weekend's games really are in HD. My understanding from the schedules is that both games are on MSG in HD, but Saturday's is on NHL Network, so anything goes there, and as of now VSGolfHD does not have the Ranger game on Sunday, only Versus, which isn't HD on D*.

Something is screwed as of late with NHL network US. For the last few months they were replaying Stanley Cup Playoffs from this last year/season and previous years. They have been showing them in SD! WTF? I have seen those same games on the same Network in HD.

Maybe they only showed the games live in HD and didn't tape the HD version.

With more live game coverage than ever before, NHL Network today unveiled its U.S. broadcast schedule for the 2008-09 regular season. It includes 75 regular-season games, all in HD.

Highlighting the schedule is the inclusion of CBC's award-winning Hockey Night In Canada, now available to U.S. fans through NHL Network for the first time. Every Saturday night, NHL Network will not only broadcast the live Hockey Night In Canada double-header, but also the CBC pre-game show Scotiabank Hockey Tonight and post-game show After Hours.
