It's bad enough they veered off course to Ireland (not that it's so bad but rap it up already) but I really wish they didn't go down the political road last night with the Sarah Palin abortion baby mamma reference. Like her or despise her is irrelevant. It was a hit in the face since there is no way that any of these characters would know who she was or give a rats ass. These characters are so involved in their little circle of life it's not very realistic to drag ideologies into the scheme of things. All that did was knock the viewer out of the magic and into reality.

I did enjoy the episode but it did seem to have more commercial breaks.

I figured the new prospect wouldn't make the cut. I didn't care for the casting. These new guys seem like they came out of a middleclass suburbnot Charming.

... And to add to one more thing to my political complaint, I bet there were a lot of viewers who didn't even catch the reference which makes my point even better. Why bother to do it?

I didn't catch it nor pay attention. It wasn't that clear in the dialog from the actress who said it, so I just breezed right on past it. Nobody really cares what that porn-stars name is anyway, just that she is with Ope (whose name we actually know because we care about that character). Didn't take me out of the moment at all because her name, alias or not, isn't really important to me.

LL3, I caught it, and didn't see the point in it. That said, it's typical for a writer to do something like this.

So 90-minute episode accounted for slightly less than 60 minutes of story. I was expecting more like 66 minutes. Definitely had more commercials though I liked the episode.

Another great episode this week. No bones about it I love this season too, despite some opinions to the contrary here SOA rules !

I thought you were making a big deal out of nothing, but decided to research.

It turns out that Sarah Palin gave her famous speech in 2008, at the same time SOA was premiering...which killed its ratings for the the very first show.

Sutter, who is admittedly liberal, was not too happy about that and vented in his blog. I guess this was his way of getting back.

I think it is funny, although childish, but can see why some would be a little offended.

The big issue I have with the Ireland plot, is that they use body doubles for the real Ireland location shots (always from behind, or from a distance) and the actual cast is filmed in California. Even with filters and such, it's just a wee too sunny.

And another great episode!

surprised there are no posts on this weeks show..Looks like we have the baby plot another week according to the coming attractions. I liked a few scenes: take off the jacket before you jump off of the roof and the tools of torture that the guy used for info.. Were they Craftsman tools? Don't think Jax would give up son with everything that has happened and loss of life.. Doc has her own troubles to get out of..

Yeah, great stuff. I like that torture pouch. It looks like the standard kit I guess you can buy one at your local Spy vs. Spy shop. How many times have we seen that same pack untied and unraveled on a table? It was almost like stock footage.

I like when Jax said he was almost entering Tig territory.

Looks like we're stuck with it to the end of the season. So let me get this straight - the entire season played out like this because the priest wanted to keep Baby Teller from becoming one of the boys?

I had really hoped that the baby plot would end and we'd get back to some real Sons soon ..

And where in Ireland can a guy rent some bad ass looking bikes .. ?

Bring back Zobelle ..

Oddball: Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

I was really enjoying last week's show until the end. I don't understand how Jax can even consider not getting his son back. Just because he gets his son back doesn't mean Abel has to join the SOA. Makes no sense to me to take the SOA over there and consider leaving without Abel.

How does he know his father didn't him to follow into the SOA? There's a good chance this priest is BSing Jax and just took a huge donation from the adopting parents for Abel.

As for the Tara storyline- I talked to few people we all agreed that there is no way a club would say please to another 1% club and ask their President to play dead. The SOA would have went to Alvarez's house and told him part of the ransom demand was to have SOA kill him and they were given this address. That puts all the Mayan chapters looking for the kidnappers. No way the kidnapper asks for the death of the Mayan President without every Mayan patch looking for you.

They also would have told Alvarez to give the kidnapper's old club a message - Find him or we pull every one of your patches we see .

Then the SOA would have sent a message to SOA in Oregon and Wash to send patches down to look for the DR.

Fog. No way in hell a strong sane man even considers leaving his child with strangers; immediate family is all there is. Friendship and brotherhood is eventually shown to be illusion in this world. It's all in the DNA or finances. Other than that, lets see some more blood.

It's as if the whole Ireland story arc was to bring us back to the core of the showa son coming to terms with the family business that his father thrust him into. This is similar to the entire Sopranos story line.

I agree, it was the most absurd scene in this entire series. I think the shock of seeing the new mama and papa with bloody holes in their head was enough to forget about Jax leaving his child there. What the hell were the writers drinking/smoking to expect us to believe that the character could/would do that? I'm still into it even though I'm annoyed by this patheic turn.

I thought the scene was quite believable, and very well done. My grandson is about that age, so it got to me emotionally. Jax is a very introspective person, and was thinking of his Son's best interests. In that moment of seeing him in a normal, safe, peaceful environment he forgot about anything but what was good for his Son, not himself. His Dad wanted better for him, and he wants the same for his Son.

Obviously, what happened next, snapped him out of it.

To the question of why didn't Tara shoot Alvarez? She is a doctor, not a killer - well, at least not on purpose.

I was channel surfing on the radio yesterday an heard an interesting stat. The name Jax is the 2nd most popular "trendy name" for newborn males over the last 2 years. So, I guess SOA is impacting future generations.

Anyone know of a soundtrack coming out for the show? I searched CD Now and all I got back was 3 cds: The Best of Curtis Stigers, who does the theme song, Haunt by Audra Mae and Riot City Blues by Primal Scream.. I know there is alot of music used on the show such as the Lions "White Angel".. It would make a great gift for the holidays..

I'm still into the series myself. Nothing is perfect and this is a hell of a world that Sutter has created, very entertaining and it usually keeps me sweating on the edge of my seat waiting for the next twist. I don't want to miss an episode.
