Fringe was the best show. Its biggest mysteries have still note been solved -

- how did Fox not cancel a good scifi show after 1 season? (they did cut it short in the last season so you can't really forgive them)
- did Walter ever write down his wonderful recipes or are they lost forever!

I re-watch this show every year, or so.

Noble's character Walter is one of my all time favorites!

Anna Torv's alternate universe character is great too. Well, actually I love all her incarnations!

^ one of my favorite Walter moments was in season 5 where he made a video of where he hid all the devices needed in the plan to defeat the Observers...
He was walking down the street on his way to the "pocket universe" apartment building saying how "crucial" this next phase was...but he suddenly stops at a bakery shop window banging on the shop window asking "...is that raspberry filling?....is that raspberry filling?!!"... suddenly the video cuts out... moments later when the video resumes... we see raspberry jelly stains around Walters mouth, then he simply continues on his task of saving the world!
Classic Walter!

Fringe was so superior in every way over the 'X Files', light years at least. I'm not even referring to that pathetic joke of a reboot at the beginning of the year.

Superior concept that actually had a 'mythology' unlike the X Files that changed directions numerous times, then just got lost. Though, it was very hard to follow the twists & turns until one had the opportunity to watch the series at least a 2nd time.
Superior cast. They all flowed together, chemistry was outstanding and I don't mean just Anna & Josh. No apparent 'ego' problems.
Far less 'unrelated' (to the mythology) episodes. (2/3 of the X Files were not related to the mythology, if you can call it that).

The only 'killer' was the last, half season that 'lost it's way', even thou it did bring closure to the series.

Recording free OTA TV for 'time shifting' has been here since 1977. Will there be DVR's to do the same when ATSC3 obsoletes existing DVR's??

If it would be like that X Files joke, forget it. Fringes 5th season was bad enough.

Really miss the series, I can't see any revival at all unfortunately.

Talk about different strokes for different folks. I thought seasons 1-4 of Fringe were a waste of time that you had to slog through to finally get to the payoff of season 5.

Personally, I wouldn't lable seasons 1-4 a "waste of time", but the short season 5 was by far my favorite as it had a cohesive running theme with no MOTW episodes.

At least it wasn't anywhere near as bad as the X Files.
Talk about wading thru MOTW episodes. There was on span that was IIRC something like 10 episodes with nothing related to the inconsistent mythology was shown. I couldn't follow the series when it was on. Too many little things, if you blink your eyes you would miss. That's why I go the series on DVD which I have watched more than once. Of course, it helps going to the numerous Fringe related sites and print out the details & synopsis of each episode for reference.
