She realizes that Jane is really Red John and kills him at the end.

This is kinda wierd for me. I have always seen Jane and Lisbon more a a brother sister relationship. I have never really seen them as romantic partners either. Admittedly, I haven't seen the entire last season yet.

Why does every show like this HAVE to couple the male and female lead? Why can't they just be excellent partners at work and leave it at that? Lisbon could simply feel she can accomplish more with Jane as a partner than without and stay for that reason. Bones there is chemistry, Castle there is chemistry, here there is none.

I agree entirely. I have never noted much sexual tension from these 2. I think that the writers don't understand that not all work partners of opposite sex become couples. This whole aspect of the post red john segment of the show pretty much bores me, and I wish there were a way to drop it.

No need to pad both, I just pad the Mentalist by 45 minutes, if the GW runs long it's ending will just be on the beginning of The Mentalist :) 30 minutes would cover 95% but you really need 45 to catch all overruns. I've been just padding The Mentalist for several years and have never missed it nor the GW. The problem with padding both is it occupies 2 tuners, doing it my way only takes up 1 tuner and since I already record something else on Sunday night I need the other tuner on my 2 tuner Tivo.

The downside is if the GW runs late you can't delete the Mentalist until you've watched the GW.

I also agree, unlike Castle where I feel more sexual tension between the two leads I've also felt more a brother sister relationship between Lisbon and Jane. In fact while I'd consider both leads in Castle quite attractive(well as much as a guy can seem attractive to me) I haven't really felt that way about either Mentalist actors, not that they aren't great actors.

Has this been renewed thus year??

Abundant OTA television is what makes this country different from all others. Lets keep it this way. If you like Wi-Fi so much, OTA fits right in. After all, it is wireless.

Things really went downhill with the last minute, 'shotgun' romance between those two.

I'll enjoy it until the end. I am disappointed it wasn't renewed but glad it will have the opportunity to have a satisfying conclusion.

They're putting the show back on the Sunday night post football graveyard for eastern and central time zones. Why bother? The show is all but dead anyway. Emily Swallow, the FBI agent added last year is already gone.

I know some people didn't like the reboot, but I've loved the entire series including last season.

I find The Mentalist to be one of those comfortable shows that I just like to sit back, relax, and enjoy. For me personally, I put it in the same category as Columbo, Rockford Files, Poirot, Monk, and Rosemary & Thyme. Shows that I enjoy because of the actors, characters, and fun storylines as opposed to the more gritty or mind challenging detective shows (which I also like, just differently).

This is a show I hope Netflix or Amazon picks up. It's too good to die.

For the love of all things. PLEASE don't turn "rejected-FBI-dude" into RedJohnStalkerDude2.0. I'm not liking the "vibe" setting up there.

I don't think there was any dark "vibe". Seems like he was merely being used as the device to kick off new questions and resulting tensions within this new relationship; where do they go from here? do they both want the same things? kids, marriage, etc.

Mourning the disappearing usage of the -ly suffix. Words being cut-off before they've had a chance to fully form, left incomplete, with their shoelaces untied and their zippers undone. If I quote your post (or post in your thread) without comment, please check your zipper.

Except the dude has/had been pressuring Lisbon from day one, (not to mention trying to isolate Lisbon from friends/team by getting her a "promotion" to DC.) His behavior ain't "normal." He had a plan. ... Danger: Stalker/Unstable ... they always seem "nice" ... at first.
